Braxton Holmes, a name increasingly synonymous with the global underground, is delivering a foray of deep dark treats from below!This talented producer, remixer, and dj has permeated the depths of the underground to inject his own unique flavor to the long burgeoning scene. Striving to create a more soulful version of international dance music, Holmes wants that late 70s R&B/early 80s disco feel. It had more substance, not just stupid hooks and meaningless lyrics.Holmes is best known for his critically acclaimed disco influenced underground hits People Everyday, Be Grateful and his remix of Cheek's Sunshine People. Having spun internationally, Holmes wants to invigorate the art form and avoid the cookie cutter format he sees as rampant in the genre. Only a handful go against the grain, he states.Braxton's musical ingenuity has roots that were nurtured long before his birth. His grandmother owned a record store on Chicago's South Side, his grandfather lead a jazz band, and his aunt often performed with Duke Ellington.In addition, Braxton has a formal education in Marketing & Finance from DePaul University and has honed his skills working for such notable companies as ASCAP, Jive Records, and the TransWorld Records Chain.
