I am here for Friends

About Me

Well where do I really start? I just moved back from Orlando, Florida where I participated in an internship at Walt Disney World Resort. What a BLAST!!!!! Not only was I a FriendShip Boat Captain, but I got to see Jimmy Buffett in concert and see the shuttle take off in early December. I recently moved into an apartment in Fresno so I could finish up my degree in Business Management here at Fresno State. Before my internship started this past summer I was all over the place. From Fresno (for summer school), to Texas, Chicago, Lake Tahoe, Hawaii and Butte Lake, I did everything imaginable. I spent part of '06 in Europe (living in Germany) studying abroad. I traveled every single weekend while I was there to different countries. What an experience! I made some great friends and of course had a blast in the meantime! I guess I just can't keep my feet on the ground. I moved to Fresno for school in fall, 2004 after growing up in Modesto where I attended Thomas Downey HS. Right now I'm thoroughly enjoying my traveling, college years and all of the experiences that go along with it. I spend time with my friends as much as I can, and I also love going to baseball games. But here's what you really should know about me. I'm an easy going and fun loving guy. I am a leader, with well intentioned goals in my life for both myself and those around me. I hope to continue to make more and more friends as life goes on. My family and friends mean more to me than anything else in this world...

My Interests

My interests are as broad as can be. One of my favorite things is being outdoors. Whether it be snow skiing, golfing, camping, hiking, hunting, or taking a drive up in the mountains, I love it all. I guess part of the whole outdoors things also is watching sports, especially baseball and football (huge fan of the Sac Kings, 49ers, SF Giants, Oakland A's, Fresno St. sports and whatever team my cousin is playing baseball for) . Traveling is another big hobby of mine. Last year I was in Europe for three months on my own, this fall I will be in Florida for an internship. I also love people; being around people, talking to them, making friends with them and everything else. Other than that, I'm a pretty relaxed guy. Relaxing is my thing when the time is right, but really, I'm flexible... I do whatever... you know, go with the flow.

I'd like to meet:

I would love to meet some of my past ancestors and also some family members of mine who live in Europe. I just want a better understanding as to how my family was started and who I'm related to. Who knows, maybe someone famous is in my past???

Music:

Well depending on the mood I'm in, how tired or pumped up I am, or who I'm with, I will listen to different music. Love classic rock, country, modern rock/punk/alternative, rap/hip hop, classical, acoustic, oldies. Some of my fav bands and artists include Jack Johnson, Jimmy Buffett, Boston, Coldplay, Tim McGraw, Dave Matthews, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Jay-Z, Journey, Kansas, Steppenwolf, Sublime, The Beach Boys, Relient K, Augustana, Garth Brooks, The Doobie Brothers, Queen, Styxx, Alabama, George Straight, 2Pac, The Eagles, Josh Gracin, Linkin Park, Nickleback, Pillar, Metallica, Earth, Wind and Fire, Guns & Roses, Led Zepplin, Van Halen, Notorious BIG, Tom Petty, Rod Stewart, Rage, Kenny Chesney, G-Unit, Alan Jackson, Dierks Bently, Bon Jovi, John Mayer, Brad Paisly, The Doors, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flats, The Who, Aerosmith, The Wreckers, ACDC, CCR, Lynard Skynard, The Rollin Stones, Frank Sinatra (yes, the old guy himself) and the list goes on and on and on...

Movies:

I love movies. They are the greatest. I love pretty much every type of movie. Foreign films and some of those unknowns are pretty cool. I'm currently building up a collection of DVD's and right now I'm at 375. My "wanted list" is pretty long still with about 75 titles. I want to have a great collection of all different types of movies that way I can share something I enjoy with all my friends and family when they come over and the time is right. As you will see (if you actually read this crap) is that I enjoy every kind of movie. Some of my favorites include: The Alamo, Braveheart, Breaking Away, The Bridge on the River Kwai, The Bridges at Toko-Ri, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Casablanca, A Christmas Story, Cinderella Man, Cool Runnings, Dances With Wolves, Days of Thunder, Deliverance, Dumb and Dumber, El Mariachi, Enemy at the Gates, Escape From Alcatraz, Forrest Gump, The French Connection, The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Good Morning Vietnam, The Great Escape, The Greatest Game Ever Played, Gunga Din, Home Alone, The Incredibles, It's a Wonderful Life, Jeremiah Johnson, The Last of the Mohicans, Lawrence of Arabia, Master and Commander, Napoleon Dynamite, National Treasure, A Night at the Roxbury, O’ Brother Where Art Thou?, October Sky, The Patriot, The Pianist, Pirates of the Caribbean, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Prefontaine, The Princess Bride, Rudy, Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List, Searching For Bobby Fisher, Shane, The Shawshank Redemption, High Tension, Sleepless in Seattle, Star Wars, The Sting, Super Troopers, The Terminal, Tigerland, Tin Cup, Top Gun, Tora! Tora! Tora!, Touching the Void, Toy Story, Troy, Turner and Hooch, U571, Wedding Crashers, We Were Soldiers, Windtalkers, Without Limits: Steve Prefontaine, Zoolander, The Departed, The Guardian, Borat, The Pursuit of Happyness

Television:

Well I'm not too much of a TV junky, at least I think. Sports is a given, Sportscenter or the games (anything, anytime it don't matter). I watch more movies, but for some of my favorite TV shows, I have a few. Lost, 24, House, American Idol, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Deadliest Catch, Mythbusters, Planet Earth and Little People Big World. The Weather Channel is great, so is the news, anything on Discovery, Travel and the History Channel. I hate to admit it but Ellen D is my dawg so I watch her show too. I also watch re-runs of Cops, Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends and Seinfeld. I guess I do watch a lot of the tube.

Books:

I used to read 2-3 hours every day until a couple of years ago. I've collected many books as I have a wall in my room filled top to bottom with them. I tend not to read as much probably because I'm going to school and i have to read big text books and other required readings. But I do love history books, you know, non fictions. I recently read the Da Vinci Code and if you want a quick and good read, I recommend that.

Heroes:

I have several heros in my life. My parents are tied for number one. My grandparents are right there too. My friends and family all have positive impacts on me, that being the reason I choose to include them in my life. I admire each and every one and look up to many of them. Some of my past teachers, advisors and coaches have meant a lot to me and I credit where I'm at today as a person, to them, for helping me along the path of my life. My karate instructor always told me, "Pick the best and be better. That's how you become sucessful." My leadership advisor, though never really had any quitty remarks, was always there for me and would listen to whatever it was that was on my mind. Same with my sophomore english teacher. When she would see my walking by in the hallway, she would stop me to check up on me and could always tell if I had something on my mind. I had a basketball coach once tell me I made the team over somebody else not only because of my skills, but because of my leadership, dedication and positive attitude. That was 8th grade, and I think since then, those words have floated through my head always carrying me through the times where success seems impossible.
