She is currently working on development of new project with an international group of creative people from different areas and backgrounds that incorporated themselves in to a movement that has the mission of realizing projects beyond borders. they are based in two different countries USA and Brazil. She has also been working with international partners for the last nine years on a project that culminated in the construction of an eighteenth century replica tall ship (120 ft) named Tocorimé. Successfully completed in 2000, they started the second part of the project: the realization of social, ecological and cultural projects using Tocorimé as a movable venue for such endeavors. Please see our website www.tocorime.net for greater detail. The goal of this project is to travel the world on the open seas promoting greater understanding of race, religion, culture, and environment through encouraging exploration of each of these themes in this small floating world of it 's .. construction period Marcia Moraes pursued her vision of “on-board theater†with the Tocorimé. It is a wooden vessel, classically constructed with masts, ropes, steel cables, and sheaves. Believe it or not, it actually looks like a natural theater stage. As she have also developed a close relation with circus acrobatic skills, she had the vision of adapting acrobatics in the aerial space of a tall ship. In the four years following the ship´s construction they successfully financed, developed, produced and directed two large-scale theater performances on board. These performances were completely new and magical experiences for audience members. Moreover, the unique nature of on-board theater allows such projects to be seen across the seven seas. In fact, she is developing currently new projects with this type of touring in mind.
