Formed in 1999 by X-lead singer Ofir Viter and drummer Guy, Salvation was a well planed project.
The line up and instruments where already known from the band's birth.
However things don't always turn out as planed and considering the very complicated idea and the severe lack of Metal musician around the southern part of Israel the band had gone through a lot of changes through out its existence.
Members join(t) and got kicked out faster then hell until the late 2002 when the band finally started to form the desired shape. The final Line up in which the band really started working and actually went on stage with was a unique mixture of various Rock and Metal backgrounds, from the Lead Guitarist Shahars Thrash and Death riffs, through Guys Doom and Gothic Metal. After the first gig Salvation decided to add a keyoard player to the line up.
It was the missing part of our band for years and although we never had an active keyboardist in our band prior to Anna, we always wrote parts for keyboards.
Later on Anna was replace by a young and very talented Oleg that brought his on unique style to the song.
Going though a lot of changes Salvation music evolved into this mixture of old school Doom and gothic and with Shahars growing love to melodic Death metal the guitars are not always the classic power chords youll hear in doom. Still Salvation is mostly inspired by the gothic melodic metal of such bands as Within Temptation, The sins of Thy Beloved, Draconian and The early material of The Gathering.
Since 2002 Salvation has been trying hard to push forward metal in its region and break out at the same time with its unique sound and refreshing style in a sea of black metal bands and new metal garbage. They recorded a 6 tracks EP self-produced finalizing the first 5 years of the bands existence. Some of they songs in the EP were put to rest later on, Shahar, The lead guitarist claims it all a part of renewing and refreshing the music: Guy explains: songs written 5-6 years ago cant always go back to back with our new stuff, we are still evolving and so is our music, right now our direction is more clear and some songs just dont go there so we have to put them away Now Salvation is focused on new material and a more united line.
