Born and raised in a tiny rural town in the South-Western Province of Ontario in Canada, Allecia always aspired of pursuing her dream of music. As an only child, her mother worked in the family barbershop and her father worked as a mechanic. From an early age, Allecia always saw herself living a much different life. From the early age of two, she began taking music lessons in Irish step dancing and classical piano. By the age of four, Allecia began opening shows for recording Artist, Ronnie Profit in a theatre in Southern Florida. At the age of eight, she began training in voice and classical violin, and competing professionally in dance. By the time she turned 14 years of age, Allecia had already danced her way around Canada, USA, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Italy and the Caribbean Islands. Knowing that dance would only take her so far, she decided to begin to pursue singing as a full-time career and wrote and recorded her first song at the age of 15. By focusing on recording a demo and already attracting the interests of several major recording labels in Nashville, Tennessee, Allecia knew that some how she would have to move to Nashville in order to turn this dream into a reality. However, education was also another importance in her life and at the age of 18, Allecia moved to a neighbouring city four years, pursuing an Honors BA in Philosophy at the University of Western Ontario. Before graduation, while stumbling on the internet figuring out how exactly she was going to move to Nashville and what exactly she was going to do with a degree in Philosophy, Allecia came across a website for Belmont University and literally had a “light bulb†moment. Upon scrolling over the different programs offered at the University she discovered that Belmont offered a degree in Music Business and internships at major record labels. At last, the dream of moving to Nashville and pursuing a music career was becoming closer to a reality ever before! Now, she was able to not only learn about the music business, but also able to work and live in Nashville! After going through a grueling application process, she was accepted to the program and graduated with her Masters in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Music Business in August 2008. During this time, not only did Allecia network into the tight circle that is the Music Industry, but also completed internships at two major record labels in the Publicity and Media departments, such as: Sony BMG Nashville and Universal Music Group Nashville. It was until a Allecia met with a local promoter at a writer’s night in Nashville and handed him a demo that she began to make progress in the music industry. This chance meeting lead into a production deal with long-time songwriting legend Randy Boudreaux, which then lead her into signing with UK label, Right Recordings.
