Music made me a writer....

About Me

"Sing loud in the shower,
Dance often in the rain ,
Love truly,
And laugh until your stomach hurts .
Do whatever it takes,
But don't regret anything that made you smile "
Jessica Lawson --

My name is Jessica, I'm 19 and I live in Marietta (K-town if you want to get technical with it), GA. Music is my first love and writing is my biggest passion. I'm in the process of writing my first book (it still has a long way to go) and I'm a journalism major at Georgia State University. It's a good school, I like it there, but from my own personal experience, living on campus sucks ass. So... I'll most likely be at home for the next few years. I'm hoping to do a journalism internship in NYC my junior or senior year if at all possible, but as we all know, a lot can change in a year or two. And if by some strange miracle you don't know that, you will, that's a guarantee. I love to read, and I love to sing and play piano. I guess you could call those my hobbies, but to me, they're too big a part of my life to be considered so small. I do have a few things I consider hobbies, I like to scrapbook and I love to take pictures. I'm intensely loyal to my family and my friends, and while some may consider that a weakness I consider it one of my greatest strengths. Nothing means more to me than they, because without them I wouldn't be who I am. I'm independent to a fault, but their support has gotten me through a lot, including those awkward teenage years and that lovely little hell called your freshman year of college. Cross them and you've crossed me as well. If there's anything else about me you'd like to know, you can send me a message or you can AIM me: Singergurl207 ... yeah, it's lame, I know.

My Interests

Singing, playing piano, playing flute, learning to play guitar, listening to music, going to rock concerts (however rare an occasion that may be), reading, writing poems, writing stories, writing books (yes, I write books, or I'm writing a book), speaking my mind, being creative, appreciating art, traveling, musicals, journalism, quotes, journaling, etc...

I'd like to meet:

In all seriousness. I'm up for meeting just about anyone... as long as they know how to use correct english when speaking to me. :-]

Music:

Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, 311, Flyleaf, The Ditty Bops, Norah Jones, She Wants Revenge, All American Rejects, Pendulum, Paul Oakenfold, Jason Mraz (amazingly talented musician!), Linkin Park (as always), Incubus, Breaking Benjamin, Marilyn Manson, Evanescence, Celine Dion (of course), Muse, Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru, Gackt, Malice Mizer, Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Story of the Year, Bright Eyes, Lamb of God, A Perfect Circle, The Used, Oasis, KYO, Three Days Grace, Death Cab for Cutie, Nirvana, Skye Sweetnam, Fall Out Boy, Chimaira, Saving Jane, Bethany Joy Lenz, Switchfoot, Gavin Degraw, From Autumn to Ashes, 30 Seconds to Mars, Imogen Heap, Rock Kills Kid, Cobra Starship, Scissor Sisters, Elton John, Mike Doughty, Beth Hart, Cold, Less than Jake, Dropkick Murphies, Flogging Molly, Justin Timberlake, etc. I listen to mostly rock/heavy metal. But I promise that's not all (really, if you ever took a look at my CD collection, you'd see that's far from all). But I'm willing to listen to just about anything, as long as it has decent lyrics (most of the time, I'll admit, not all the music I listen to has decent lyrics or lyrics I can even understand since I like KYO and I don't speak a word of french) or involves some sort of actual musical talent. And if it happens to have both, then hey, best of both worlds.

All my troubles get crushed as the rush hits my brain...

So... I've come to the conclusion that I think too much. I overthink everything, so instead of actually doing something about it, I just think about it. I'm scared of saying anything sometimes because...
