Wow, isnt the 21st century crazy! we've got all sorts of technological breakthroughs going on, culminating in a world-wide second world. Well as we didn't want to be left back, Alliance UK thought its only fit that we have a MySpace page, so thank you for gracing us with your presence.
We make seriously good friends, so come along to our party and say hello...
..
The first ‘proper’ issue of the year (I don’t count the gear guide as a regular issue) is the annual ‘Travel Issue’ and we’ve got stories from Sam Carne who’s on the search for an endless summer, well I say searching but as this is his fourth year without a full winter I guess he already found it. Then we go to Scotland with nothing but a tent, a winch and a wakeskate to see how to get your holiday kicks when money’s tight. Steph Caller tells the tale of her Philippino adventures, the return of the Alliance Old School contest, and the legend that is Pat McGucken is back at Alliance and has written one of the best ever Matters columns to date. The usual stuff’s all there with some belting images in Framed, Inside the world of Pat Panakos and the System 2.0, and the wonderful Angela graces the Girl Page. We’ve got a new addition to the departments with a feature we like to call the ‘Dustpan’. Mr Matt Crowhurst is in charge here, and for his first mostly pointless wake related stunt, teams of two were pitted against each other for some blindfolded cable wakeboarding. You have to read this. Also we are launching the Alliance Photo Contest, a year-long search to find a new staff photographer for the magazine. It’s open to anyone to enter and we have organized three photo clinic’s throughout the year for anyone to come and shoot the Liquid Force, Gator and O’Brien teams with pro photographers on hand to give out tips and advice. Read more about it in the issue and there will be a full web update very soon.As before, we are 100% recycled and the paper feels alarmingly erotic on your fingertips, so don’t miss out on this erogenous experience, go get your copy now. From Alliance Wakeboard Magazine UK, comes...
1fifty1
There are many ways for a person to stand up and do something for their country. You can join the armed forces and go kill people from other countries, you can train 18 hours a day for ten years to become an Olympic athlete, or you can even write a pop tune for the Eurovision song contest should you want to. We at Alliance have been looking for ways to do something for our country, and more importantly for those who inhabit it for a while, and now in year 3 of the magazines circulation it is time for us to do our part, to stand up an be counted, to really take one for the team and endure (at times) up to 36 hours of constant travelling in cramped conditions with prison standard food and hygiene conditions. Thats right, we had to go to the Caribbean and South Africa to make a DVD.So who is on this DVD and whys it got a weird name like 1fifty1?
A hand picked group of 8 of the best the UK has to offer up. Representing the wakeskaters, Craig McCulloch came along, with the help of Trigger (Christian Thom), for the groms Nick Davies and James Young, and the four people you couldnt really make a British film without Dan Nott, Jonty Green, Marc Rossiter and Ben Hitch Between them, some scenic locations and some dogs, we managed to fill up 151 tapes over the two and a half weeks.
The DVD's available RIGHT NOW from www.alliancewake.co.uk or by calling 01758 710066. So go order your copy now then get the hell off CrySpace and go for a ride!!
