nicknamed BOUNCE by a childhood friend of my father, i was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, the only son to DeNorvious Pickett, having 3 older sisters and 3 younger sisters (1 of whom is deceased) and began my artistic career in the third grade, having poems of mine published in national publications at the tender age of 8. growing up and being exposed to the very same dangers that torment inner city kids today (illiteracy, gangs, drugs, and broken homes) I was raised by my father (with very little help from my mother) and encounted the same plagues that eat away at our lives. i played basketball and wrote poems, and even kept a weekly journal at a young age. After a life changing experience at age 18, where i saw my bestfriend/"big bro" Lloyd, my friends Jason and Ernest die, and just barely avoiding death myself, i decided the life i was leading wasnt the course of life i wanted, and made a change for the best. i accepted my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and started attending LPCC (Living Praise Christian Center) in Chatsworth.....shortly there after, CIXX, was born. after learning how to rap in 2001 and struggling with many different monikers to use God divinely gave me the name CIXX...CIXX represents a number of things, including the day the Bible says God created man (genisis 1:26-31) the street i grew up on (6th avenue), and the spelling of the name CIXX in roman numerals the "C"=100 + "X"=10 + "X"=10 and the "I" represents me as a person, and the 100+10+10=120 which represents the number of years God gave man to live after His displeasure with the corruption/wickedness of man (genisis 6:3/deuteronomy 34:7). im a poet who uses melodies along wit my lyrics to entertain and educate...we call it "edutain!!" i encourage my audience to listen to the pearls of life that i have hidden between the lines of my verses....once u tune in, u can find them, however u will be entertained at the same time....i am on a mission to help restore hip-hop to its one time prominence, where it is once again a expression of true feelings and opinions as opposed to it being continuously "raped" like it is being currently!! most importantly im as big a part of the "hip-hop" generation as i am a fan!! currently i have a mixtape in he streets "2 of a kind" featuring my man GS from Houston, TX....some of the joints on here are on that mixtape...holla at me if u want a copy....remember im not a rapper....im an MC....a history maker in tha makin'!!!
