About Me

I enjoy reading, writing, and almost any form of art and music. Currently, I work at Half Price Books in Humble and on the side help out Gershom Wetzel and Jonathan Michael Damian Klemm (the latter is my husband) in the quest to make short films. I am in the middle of writing two novels, and when finished, I would like Gershom to make them into screenplays and possibly films. I also have friends at Unbendable Productions and Something Electric Films and try to help out there when I can. I grew up being in choir and rehearsed and sang about four hours a day every day until college. Now, I only listen and tinker with a guitar I have never learned to play. I miss singing with a choir, and I miss singing with a band, would love to get back into it. I enjoy photography, but I am just learning, and my only tool is a crappy digital camera - so I will not and cannot call myself a photographer. I like to take documentary and consistency photos when the boys work on their films. Check out my site at flickr.com/photos/andikay, but it hasn't been updated in forever because the email address I used to open the account no longer exists. I teach Northern Shaolin/Northern Praying Mantis Kung Fu and have been training in Martial Arts since I was ten, my best weapon is the dagger. I collect knives and love to spar and choreograph. Occasionally, I draw, and in high school I intended on going to an art school, but instead ended up a business major at DBU. I plan on opening my own Kung Fu studio someday.' My Interests

Fifth Floor Pictures, LLCFOOTHOLD PRODUCTIONS Visit: http://www.youtube.com/AndrewArmstrongIII You'll see a few shots of my sexy husband in there.

I'd like to meet:

In general: PUBLISHERS (because I'm writing books, I have some fantastic stuff that will be finished within 6 months for people to look at eventually), FILM MAKERS (my husband and best friend are both actors and short film makers with endless ideas and talent, I'd love to make some contacts with locals to further their work)Specifically: Bono, Paul McCartney, Chris Martin, Trent Reznor, to stand in awe and tell them how amazing they are... even though that's probably all anyone does around them. Angelina Jolie, and see if she really is as nutty as everyone says. Ron Howard, and see if he would like to make a movie with my husband in it. Dallas Jenkins, and see if he would like to make a movie with Gershom Wetzel with my husband in it. Bruce Lee (if I could go back in time), and talk to him about God. John Grisham, to talk to him about writing, and what he thinks I should do next to get published. Robin McKinley, to talk to her about writing, and what she thinks I should do next to get published. Patrick Stewart, to tell him how much I adore him. There are just too many... because I have about fifty more on the tip of my brain that I just don't have time to type about.Teresa Noreen USED to be on that list... but now that I've met her, its kinda hard to keep her there. Visit her site, vote for her when she needs it, and be a fan of the coolest model ever. But first, check out her pic of the week:

Look forward to Mondays!

Music:

I absolutely adore the music of: the Beatles (especially Rubber Soul and Magical Mystery Tour), Incubus (for their amazing versatility, my favorites being Miss You and Acqueous Transmission), U2, Coldplay (I love the remake of You Only Live Twice and Spies still gives me chills), Third Eye Blind (the first album is my favorite), Staind, Trent Reznor (NIN), Howard Shore, Elton John and Bright Eyes. I also enjoy: Jars of Clay (Eleventh Hour is my favorite all time song of theirs), Eminem, Movie Soundtracks (Last of the Mohicans is awesome and Meet Joe Black is amazing), the Schwogglers, Blink 182/Box Car Racer/ Angels and Airwaves, Nouveaux, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Alanis Morisette, Joel Sprayberry Band, and Dave Matthews Band although I don't listen to him all that much because a lot of his stuff is a little bit over rated (I love Crash Into Me, the DMX version is my favorite of his performances, and I like Halloween). I also listen to Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown, Everclear, The Wallflowers, Guns-N-Roses, and Rage Against the Machine/AudioSlave. Velvet Revolver, Eric Clapton, BB King are fabulously terrific in concert. Dave Ramirez, Spacemanspiff, Shoreline, Wilco, Jack Johnson, Norah Jones, The Shins, Goo Goo Dolls (especially Baby's Black Balloon, its music video is fantastic), Iron and Wine, Toadies, The Postal Service, Yo-Yo Ma, Weezer, The Verve, and Vervepipe also pepper my musical collection. My newfound loves include Imogen Heap, Mute Math, Virgo Degan, A Road Less Traveled, titanmoon, Green River Ordinance, Shoot Fulton Shoot, Wesley Hilsabeck, and Ryan Gilbert.

Movies:

Wicker Park, Gattaca, Fight Club, Boondock Saints, Domino, Underworld and Underworld:Evolution, all the Harry Potter movies, all the Lord of the Rings movies, Tristan+Isolde, Identity, Runaway Jury, The Interpreter, Legends of the Fall, Twelve Monkeys, American Beauty, Dragon, Life as a House, Remember the Titans, Shawshank Redemption, The Sting, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Dazed and Confused, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Corpse Bride, Italian Job, Girl Interupted, White Oleander, Almost Famous, all the Matrix films, Batman Begins, Shaun of the Dead, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Donnie Darko, Beautiful Mind, The Recruit, The Sons of Katie Elder, Shandendoah, Support Your Local Sherriff, Frequency, Empire Records, Can't Hardly Wait, Hollywood Homicide, Meet Joe Black, the Mighty Duck films, Leon the Professional (both American and International versions), anything MST3K (but I especially like I accuse my parents and Skydivers), The Usual Suspects, the Spiderman Movies, Finding Forester, Airheads, The Others, The Untouchables, all the Thumb movies (The Blair Thumb and Thumb Wars are my favorites), Star Wars (the classics), R2D2: Beneath the Dome, SpaceBalls, The Never Ending Story (only the first one), The Ring, Snatch, May, Young Frankenstein, anything M.Night Shylaman (however you spell his name)...

Television:

ALIAS (anything prior to the last episode of the fourth season...), pretty much anything JJ Abrams and Uncle Mike have done (Michael Bonvillain, director of photography), LOST although I am sad for Boo because he got edited out of it even though he worked on it all fricken summer. Firefly, Family Guy, Dark Angel (especially towards the end of the second season), Star Trek (mostly the original, Next Generation, and Voyager after that things started getting silly...), Friends (isn't that on everyone's list, I roll my eyes, but here I am still typing), Smallville, Seinfeld, Gilmore Girls, I occasionally like to catch some CSI and Law and Order, my latest love of course being Grey's Anatomy, Jericho and Heroes... and if I go old school, I love Highlander and Thundercats.

Books:

Oh my goodness, you had to ask and get me started... anything Dickens (primarily Nicholas Nickleby), anything John Grisham, anything Robin McKinley (especially Sunshine and the Hero and the Crown), all the Harry Potter books, Kafka's Metamorphosis, my Consumer Behavior textbook (oh God, I can't believe I said that, but I loved it), anything Jane Austen, White Oleander, Garden State, A Countess Below Stairs, anything C.S. Lewis (I LOVE the Chronicles of Narnia), The Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, most things by Louisa May Alcott and L.M. Montgomery, Hamlet (I collect antique copies of Shakespeare and own pretty much all of his works), Rosencrantz and Guildentern are Dead, Sherlock Holmes, The Count of Monte Cristo, Howard's End, The Scarlet Letter, Lord of the Flies, The Bourne Trilogy, The Lords of Discipline, The Dollhouse Murders, The Grapes of Wrath, Metamorphosis, Jon has me reading the Death Gate Cycle (it took a bit, but I'm getting into them a little), anything Edward Gorey, I would like nothing more than a complete collection of the works of Lord Tennyson Alfred and/or William Carlos Williams, there are far too many because the list goes on... I liked The Looking Glass Wars (excellent), Narcissist Ascending (weird/interesting), Citizen Girl (humorous/witty). My ABSOLULTE FAVORITE BOOK EVER (which are insanely strong words for me) is Sixpence House by Paul Collins (published 2003). And in my top ten favorite books I'd have to say The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger is one, but I'm not sure what the other eight books are. Glass Castle. The Autobiography of Henry VIII by Margaret George is awesome, so was Helen of Troy, as well as C.S. Forester's Horatio Hornblower Series. Alice Sebold is freaking awesome, loved Lovely Bones and her memoir Lucky. Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes has really awesome recipes and her fiction Swan is great, and The Sea by John Banville was absolutely beautiful, The Untouchable fabulous. I've decided that Tama Janowitz is crazy, but amusing. I love Orwell. Frank Herbert's White Plague was interesting. Wesley Stace's Misfortune is just amazingly strange and funny and I loved it. Nicholas A. Basbaines wrote A Gentle Madness, and that is fantastic. Jeffrey Euginedes' Middlesex is good. Though Lolita was insanely disturbing I have fallen in love with Nabakov's writing.

Heroes:

Jonathan Michael Damian Klemm, my sister Nikki, my grandmom, Gershom Wetzel, Jennifer Stuart, my dog Geoffrey (beagle, named after Chaucer)... We have since added a newer member to our small family, Anya (named after Anyanka the Vengence Demon on Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Anya is a Siberian Huskey/ American Pitbull crossbreed.
