Very is a side-project of The Movies , Tables & Chairs , and Adeline & The Philistines keyboarder, Brian Cleary. All recordings are live to CD or cassette with occasional overdubs.
Very, Marcos and i is an ongoing collaboration between Very, Ian Poston, who records under "i", marcos lopez of The Movies and Tables & Chairs. They record in Silver Lake and Eagle Rock (L.A.) together whenever they have shit set up at someone's house and feel like recording.
Very first performed... actually in 1977 at a recital given for aunts and neighbors, but he wet his pants at the start of the show. In the years to follow, there were several home recordings (some from 1984 still exist) but no performances. Very continued playing with with a Florida surf/new wave band Locals Only ( www.myspace.com/localonly ) from 1981 to 86.
Very first performed as Very and without wetting his pants almost 20 years later at the Middle East, Cambridge, MA in 1996 at a WZBC Anniversary Benefit concert. Very didn't peform again until 1998, opening for The Vehicle Birth at the Middle East upstairs and twice more at the Kingston Loft, siting in with the VB on a couple songs. Other performances include shows at The Mobius Gallery in Boston (recorded), The Deep Heaven Festival in Chinatown/Boston with Lightning Bolt and Hopewell, The Green Street Grill (with Ben Taylor on Bass Clarinet), Foley's (also playing with Tim as a duo (their first show as "The Movies). Very has also recorded with percussionist David Barnes of (recorded) Echo Chamber Ensemble. Very is currently working with Movies' ex-drummer Stevie Triechel, guitarist Magic Marcos and Jim Putnam of Radar Bros. in the instrumental band Tables & Chairs (myspace.com/tablesnchairs), recorded in October 2006 by Phil Manly of Trans Am .
Very is me, trying to make this bio sound like a professional, fancy press-kit-like-thing written by a industry specialist who has dedicated their lives to promoting Very. Don't be misled -- no one in their right minds would dedicate themselves to promoting Very. Very is not for everybody. It may "be" for about 5 people. And that's fine with Very.
