I'm a mother of 2 beautiful daughters (plus a baby on the way!) and married to the most wonderful husband I could ever ask for! We've been married for 9 years now and we are as much in love now as we ever were.
In person, I'm very quiet & sensitive to other people's feelings. Sales people love/hate me as I'm too nice to turn them away but stubborn when it comes to actually buying their stuff. I tend to be a perfectionist, I like things done so-so when it comes to skills and if one little thing is off, it absolutely drives me nuts as I KNOW it can be better!! This is why many of my early photography found their way to the trash bin even though most people saw nothing wrong with them what so ever.
I'm on the computer a lot, I've picked up some knowledge of html, started and ran a website for a while and even braved a chat room & was amazed I talk more there than in person.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I think I'm on the computer a lot only because I live in suburbia but my heart lives in the wide open spaces of nature and the countryside. I miss that so much.
I love quiet evenings, rain clouds, sunsets, sunrises, thunderstorms, horses, immersing myself in a good book, warm fireplaces, the smell of salty air, pine trees, fresh cut hay, and I've been known to stare at fields of tall grass on windy days.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Photography started for me in Jr. High Art class. It was a photography assignment but we got to choose the theme we wanted to do. I didn't think too much of it as all I had was a 110 camera, hardly a professional camera (see the perfectionist here?), so I did not expect much. I was amazed however at how many compliments I got on my photos. Well that got the ball rolling but I still wasn't all too serious about it until my Sophomore/junior year in high school. I started taking some shots for our school paper and a few ended up in the yearbook as well. The thrill of seeing my photos printed with my name in the by line was exciting! I also fell in love with the dark room during this time and my art teacher was constantly ushering me out, haha.
After High School, I lucked upon a job that really boosted my skills. A custom photo lab called LeBon Studios. They did everything from developing/printing film, studio shots, digital work and on location photography. I was there 3 years until I married and my focus was turned to raising a family. I didn't take photography as seriously but my "snap" shots were generally better than most and sometimes I felt that old "drive" again when ever we traveled.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Today, I have a Fugifilm 3800 FinePix, and it works great for candid shots (all my Disney shots are w/this camera)...but it hardly had the same capacity as the SLR's I was used.
So, I'm back in the saddle again and I am more excited about it than I've ever been.
I will be posting some of my older works in the photo section or if I happen to luck into some good shots with my current camera until I can upgrade to a DSLR (Look to the right).
