About Me

Lee Moretti started in her father's home studio. Tracking sounds, banging ..boards from the time that she was 2 years old. Thankfully, the story doesn't stop there.
Having been trained on guitar from the age of 12 and singing her whole life, Lee strives to always bring her full self to her music. She has graced stages across the country as both a musician as well as a spoken word artist/poet. "Poetry came naturally to me in my youth, it's very difficult for me to separate it from anything else I do creatively," Thus, from the age of fifteen onward Lee started her performance career touring the nation competitively as a slam poet. She was a member of the 2002, 2003, and 2005 competitive Providence Youth Slam Poetry teams, and performed on final's stage in San Francisco in 2005. She also helped to coach the 2004 team, but it was at Berklee College of Music that she truly found her sea legs.
"Suddenly I was kind of thrown into this musically competitive atmosphere, and I thought, this is somewhere I can really thrive." And so, she dove head first. She has been trained by nationally acclaimed singers and players (Mark White, Jon Finn, Joe Stump, Didi Stewart), and she takes her musical education very seriously. At Berklee, Lee wrote spoken word pieces and sang in Berklee Performance Center shows, including A Tribute to Sheila E (2005), 2nd Line Resurrection (2006), and annual Berklee Gala. She also performed in the 2005 Commencement Concert. Aside from studying guitar, voice, and music business, Lee toured the nation in 2007 as the lead guitar player/back up vocalist for the Queens-based rock band The Upwelling -Doghouse Records-. They were the opening act for Third Eye Blind and also played shows with The All American Rejects. "That was really a whole new game for me. As a band, we were building something together, and it can be quite a feat stuffing four people in a van with a tour manager, to boot! But I think for the time we spent together, we really made it work.."
Lee is now working on songs for her first EP/album, bringing together the full arrangement of her future band as well as her direction as a blooming artist
"I really believe that we all have something to contribute. My goal for these songs and this record is to connect the dots with everyone: my fans, my friends, my mentors, and really weave the threads together with poetry and music. One thing that remains certain to me is that none of us can really do this alone. This thing we call music is an entity and an experience that is built by the artist, and should resonate with all."
You shouldn't be doing this if you could live without it..
