I'm Katie Cawood, but to most people I'm still Katie Catt. I'm 21 years old and I live with my husband, Clint, in boring ol' Vincennes. I'm a full-time teacher's assistant at the Civitan Children's Center, where I am relentlessly abused by smartypants 5-year-olds on a regular basis! They really don't hold anything back. I spend most of my days off with children, too, so when you hear me say something like, "I falled down," think nothing of it--it's just the kind of speech that I'm used to hearing all the time.
I have "gaybors" who wear pink shorts and watch me from behind their frilly curtains. I hate long car rides, especially when Clint makes me listen to the Beastie Boys or when it's too dark to read. Reading makes me carsick, but that usually doesn't stop me. I'm easily distracted and very forgetful. Clint says that when we have children, I'm going to be like this: "Uh oh. Where's the baby? I just had it. Shhh! I think I hear it!"
I took some time off school to write, but this summer I'm taking classes through Ivy Tech to work toward my CDA....
