Born in Austin Tx ,music had always been part of my house ,having seen my first concert at age 7 , was Ike & Tina turner,Stevie Wonder ,Marvin Gaye, and James brown was the headliner,it's no wonder i turned to music . At age 12 , i contracted meningitis and had a kiddney removed in one summer . Thats when music took over , and i started playing drums. In high school i spent four years in the marching band, and jazz bands , and later a few years with the Santa Clara Vangaurd Drum Corp . Entering college , performed with the Austin Community College Jazz Ensamble . One of the first gigs was with BB King , and sax player Kirk Whalum,later doing sit-ins with him down on 6th street. From 1988 - 90, performed with calypso band Steel Power ,having met ady hernandez then, and a few years later , Brain Andrew Lee and John Lockhart . I started playing percussion in Sweet Daddy Redd , wich became the band for MC Overlord .Recording 2 CDs , "A Better Funk" and "the Darkside " soon followed . I met monte montgomery in 98' having opened a show with lisa tingle , a chance meeting at that time ,led to years of recording and touring with him. And most recently a tour that took me throughout Italy . I've shared the stage with many of austins best , and some national touring acts, Lisa Tingle , Monte Montgomery ,Brian Andrew Lee , Malford Milligan,Tommy Shannon,Asleep at the Wheel,Tommy Shane Steiner, Stephan Bruton, George Devore ,Patrice Pike, MC Overlord , Dahebegebees,Little Joe, Sting,The Neville Brothers, Run-DMC, Kid Rock, Coollio,The Funky Meters, KRS-One Kirk Whalum,BB King, Heart, Los Lonely Boys, Wide Spread Panic,Leftover Salmon,Dave Matthews Band, The Outfield,A Flock of Seagulls, Average White Band , KC and The Sunshine Band . <
