..From 12 Year Bartending Vet To The "Social Media Marketing Butterfly." A Regular Girl Finds Her Extraordinary Talents.
What's the good word My Space?
Want to hear about me and my crazy adventures as a single mom with crazy dreams of success and fullfillment?
Well, you've come to the right place.
No? Rather just see proof that I'm not just another false guru? Scroll down to see my Internet business portfolio and feel free to use the web 2.0 marketing strategies that I give away free. After over a year of testing and tweaking, I have got this Building A Web 2.0 Empire thing down to a science.I'm Sheree and 3 short years ago, I was in year 12 of an exhausting
life of tending bar, financial instability, and 10-12 hour night shifts
6 days a week.
How did I get out?
Well, it wasn't easy, but it can be done. You don't need to have a ton of money or a technical background in order to create a legitimate, profitable, and fulfilling business of your own that provides you the freedom that working for someone else can never give you.
It isn't like they say in the ads with all the claims of:
-
Automated system
Guarenteed income
Start a business for free
No training or skills required
Point and click money generation
But if you have a desire for something better and you're willing to work for it and invest at least enough money for the core elements for creating a presence online (you don't need a ton of money if you learn how to do things yourself) and the time and effort to brand yourself, you can honestly do it.
I'm living proof that even a regular person with no special skills can learn and succeed.
True Story Of The Struggle For Success Online
I started my attempt at earning a living online after major surgery for bleeding ulcers. My doctors said no tending bar till 4am anymore for me and gave me disability papers. I knew I wouldn't be very happy trying to live on what they give you for that..
I started my online career with a fruitless attempt at affiliate marketing and quickly realized that I needed to be a student of marketing before I would ever make my dreams of a successful, legitimate online business a reality.Just like all newbies do, I spent a ton of money on useless ebooks and other products before I found one good marketing course. That was Derek Gehl's 'Insider Secrets' course. This course outlined the core skills I would need and the necessary elements I had to set up for my business.
The first year that I spent researching and digging and learning technical skills by trial and error were frustrating but very useful. It was then that I realized that the products out there were, for the most part, not very newbie friendly at all. My first website, LetsStartEarning.com (in the process of transferring this domain and am having serious problems locating it), was a Plug-In-Profit site which was a typical newbie trap. I realized that all the cookie-cutter, all inclusive marketing "packages" were a joke.
I wanted to build a real business and create my own online presence.
My second site, The Newbie Business Center (again, trying to transfer and finally let go of the awful host, now I can't get my site back! I put a lot of love in that site and got some good SEO going and now, thanks to Bravenet, it's gone.) , was an informational hub containing many of the best nuggets of knowledge I had picked up during my learning period. It was then that I vowed that 1 day I would create the ultimate product to allow non-technical newbies to successfully build a true home based business online and be able to attract traffic and customers and actually make money.
I also taught myself how to use free templates and a free WYSIWYG editor to build great looking websites without spending a fortune. With the help of great bloggers like Jack Humphrey and Brad Callen's SEO expertise , I was also able to actually get people to visit the websites I built as well.
One problem I had with affiliate marketing was finding good information products to review and promote that I could honestly say would help a newbie learn something useful. They're out there, but they are rare.
Even after I felt ready to really start actively "marketing," I never stopped my thorough research. It was obvious from the start how quickly things change online.
Things were about to change more than I would've ever dreamed.
Enter "web 2.0 marketing."
In the beginning, it appeared to be some ambiguous "buzz term" for savvy marketers to capitalize on.I saw something more.
My wheels started turning and I started envisioning making a name for myself online just by sharing what I learn. That way, I could promote whatever good affiliate products I came across simply by demonstrating what I learned from said product. The best part was the fact that social media sites were free to use. I was terrified to try PPC advertising and the old standards like:
-
Traffic exchanges
Safelists
Free ad forums
email promos
I embraced the concept of "web 2.0 marketing" completely and started an experiment over a year ago. I had just been introduced to my primary network marketing opportunity and despite the MLM stigma I had heard all about, the products just fit perfectly with my social media marketing plan.
I have never paid for a single lead in my entire network marketing experience. I did use free advertising like Craigslist and Backpage at first, until I had a strong network of  social media profiles linking to my sites, blogs, and lead capture pages bringing in daily leads for me. I then took my marketing efforts 100% web 2.0 inspired.
I never stopped my quest for knowledge and mentors in subjects like:
-
SEO
Traffic generation
Writing for the Internet
Network marketing
Lead generation
Prospecting and closing
Presenting the opportunity
-
Online design principles
Edification
Blogging
Video marketing
List building
Branding
Etc
All you need is the right skills and tools.
I knew the Internet had enough false gurus so I just continued to lay low and quietly build my "Web 2.0 Empire" until I felt I was truly qualified to portray myself as a leader and share my knowledge with others as a true teacher and mentor.
After an entire year of testing the results of my social marketing strategies, the "Social Media Marketing Academy" was born. My experiences and the skills that I had aquired would make up that perfect Internet business course that even a complete newbie could understand and implement.
Many people I see out there claiming to be "web 2.0 experts" are teaching traditional marketing in a web 2.0 world .
This is leading many a poor, unknowing newbie Internet business hopeful to social media suicide and ruined reputations.
