Artists
Orgone A funk and roots band based in LA. In this form they are at their heaviest but they are also the touring and studio band/producer, and co-writers with the Pharcyde, Plantlife, Souls of Mischief and other acts. As well as live & session players for Breakestra and a long list of others. Their debut 7" was licensed to numerous comps and synched for a campaign by Adidas. Supported across radio & press by Giles P + many others. Their subsequent promo 12" featured Danny Krivit on the re-edit.
Jess Mills A vocalist from North London. Her debut 7" was A-playlisted at BBC London, and supported across the board including the Blue room on Radio 1. License applications for compiliations from far & wide inc. Jazzanova came rushing in. She co-writes and performs with Dom Search (Nextmen) and Loius Slipperz (Rawdog, Elmore Judd, Taskforce).
Projections Two guys making a varied mix of dubbed, funked, discoided organic house. They put an album out previously on Guidance that was huge and recently had a single with Rong records. Licensed numerous tracks to compilations, remixed Plantlife & others. They are finishing up their album at the moment. Dan has also recently been the keys player in studio and on tour with Madlib and his Sound Directions project. Simon has a sweet solo project called Wolfy- check the 12s.

“Orgone take the funk revival to another place, another dimension and another level with the infectious ‘Hambone’ and their wonderful version of ‘Funky Nassau’ which will probably both be played for years to come. Proper good band and proper good music!â€
Gerald Jazzman
"I have been hammering the DK reedit of funky nassau, most splendid! In my Top 5."
Mr Scruff
“Super tough. Super Heavy. And sits so damn well between other styles when we DJâ€

"Dope dope dope new 12†Big Thanks, will be playing it until the needle goes all the way through!!"

"Other labels ain't got eNuff Rope to lasso the game with massive tunes. This Danny Krivit re-edit of "Funky Nassau" from Orgone is a bonafied wicked selection for dance floor residents. The flip "Hambone" b/w "Sophisticated Honky" fully supports the labels reputation of straight up nasty funky tunes that are a must have for your decks. I testify that fact from NYC!!"
Dj Emskee (WBAI 99.5fm/The Good People)
"Fat, killer pressing of an essential Krivit re-edit. The Orgone version of Funky Nassau feels definitive and, make no bones about it- smashes dancefoors. These NuffRope geezers seems to going from strength at the moment.. This is the kind of record that will take their shit global."
Atlantic Conveyor
"Originally out on a really limited 45 back in early 2005, Orgone's cover version of Beginning Of The End's Afro-funker "Funky Nassau" now comes back, and re-edited by that man Danny Krivit too! The NY DJ tweaks the beats and extends the track out creating an absolute dancefloor anthem. This is joined on the flip by wicked Afro-disco instrumental "Hambone" (this gets really tripped-out about halfway through) and gritty, bluesy funk-rock bomb "Sophisticated Honky". Don't miss this!"
PiccaDilly Records, Manchester.
"This cover of the evergreen "Funky Nassau" came out last year on 7", an excellent new rendition with raw instrumentation from the band and a warm female vocal that reminds me a bit of Sharon Jones (read: I don't know who this is, but it definitely ain't no sissy 2000s style soul). The instrumental has a heavy afro-beat feeling with multiple percussionists and those baritone saxes, while the singer keeps things even keeled with her cool delivery. For this record Danny Krivit, lover of all breaks classic and supreme commander of all edits disco, has come to give us one of his signature 8 minute reworks. Stretching the entire a-side, this edit really needs to be heard in its entirety to be appreciated cause not only are the things Danny does subtle, but a lot of the best drops, drums & such come in the second half. The other side features two Orgone originals, "Hambone(2)" and "Sophisticated Honkey(3)." "Hambone" is another one that deserves your extended attention beyond our audio clips- this thing changes shape about 3 or 4 times and has some amazing build up / breakdowns for the floor. With those whistle blows and rock solid instrumentation, it might actually be a stronger candidate than "Funky Nassau."
Turntable Lab, NYC.
"Superb re-edit from Mr Krivit of this amazing cover version of the party classic 'Funky Nassau' performed by Orgone. Orgone? I hear you cry... Thats right Orgone the band behind such acts as 'The Breakestra', 'Plantlife' & 'The Pharcyde'. Highly recommended."
