I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Hi. I'm an East Coast guy who moved out here a few years ago to seek new opportunities, meet new people and experience fabulous weather year-round. :) Hmm, that probably sounds like a lot of people who come to L.A., LOL.I have a B.S. degree in International Marketing with a Chinese minor. A few years later I earned my masters degree in an entirely different field. I've worked for a couple of banks (on both coasts, a variety of positions), a nursing home (as an assistant chaplain) and a non-profit organization that supports people with mental health challenges (program director). As a volunteer, I taught English as a Second Language in Shanghai. I also studied Mandarin at the Beijing Foreign Studies University and the Ocean University of Qingdao. I currently oversee the budget as well as human resource matters for a fitness organization in Los Angeles and love my job. My hobbies include traveling, working-out, cooking (I enjoy trying!) and antique cars.

My Interests

I love spending time with friends doing the simple things in life...sharing food, drinks and stimulating conversation. I love to watch thunderstorms...call me wierd, but hey, like I said I'm from the "right" coast, LOL. Walks along the beach, watching movies, shopping or even just hangin' out at a coffee shop to people-watch; I'm up for almost anything! (lol). Oh, and WeHo on the weekends! :) I recently acqured a classic car (see my photos), which is a blast to take on long road trips. Yes, traveling is also something I really enjoy. Road trips or international, traveling is perhaps the best investment of one's time and resources. I've been around the US at least twice, through Asia and parts of Europe. My favorite place thus far is Da Lat in Vietnam. To relieve stress and stay healthy I enjoy working out and biking outdoors.

I'd like to meet:

Mature, fun-loving new friends. I prefer Asian guys, but just about anything goes with me. If any of my yammering sounds remotely interesting to you, IM or email me; I'd love to hear from you!

Music:

"The '70's, 80's, 90's and more!" (Much more!) I love dance club music and remixes especially.

Movies:

Oh gosh, there are so many! Foreign, Independent, Disney and Hollywood flicks all capture my attention. Let's see... "Sordid Lives," "Moulin Rouge," "Gosford Park," "The Others," "Billy Elliot," "Birdcage," "Finding Nemo," and of course the classic, "Airplane." Oh, and I loved "The Devil Wears Prada"...great flick! Hmm, I recently saw "The Illusionist"...that was good too. There are MANY more.... If you have a title in mind, ask me! :)

Television:

"The Golden Girls," "Family Guy," "Ugly Betty," "Two and a Half Men," "Medium".......Honestly though, I don't watch that much tv. Who has the time? Most of my waking hours are spent working or sitting in traffic, lol.

Books:

After grad school, I generally find it difficult to make time to pick up a book to read. However, a couple proved difficult to put down. Brown's "The D' Code", and Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray."

Heroes:

My mom and dad.
