About Me

"The last men, far from being the heirs of power, will be of all men most subject to the dead hand of the great planners and conditioners and will themselves exercise least power upon the future." - CS Lewis, The Abolition of Man

"The day of judgment is either approaching, or it is not. If it is not, there is no cause of an adjournment; if it is, I choose to be found doing my duty." -Col. Abraham Davenport, Hartford, Connecticut, May 19, 1780 http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2008/05/dayint ech_0519
I've had a complaint that I should say something new about myself, maybe keep things a little more fresh around here (insert knuckles cracking sound) so let's get down to business. I'm a pretty typical dude, graduated school in the '90s with a useless liberal arts degree just in time to see my country sold down the river. I had some fun in the mean time, I have two daughters, and I'm published. The most I was ever paid for writing was about $.24 a word. Anyway, I luckily met this really cool chick and I'm looking forward to a long, fine time together. Humn... what else to say that's not covered in interests? I'm a proponent of Christianity as an Eastern religion and think the reason that the church is largely a failure in America (read: "we're spiritual but not religious") has a lot to do with the marriage of Jesus and Capitalism, and I like both of those, but they're not the same (Acts 2:44-5). Okay, how's that for now?
