In 2003 Gordo Brega hit the streets with LE Double NY & Gordo (Da Mixtape Vol.1) which featured the title track LE Double NY & Gordo and Dominicano Soy. The 2005 mixtape release of A Lo Fuke, showcased Gordos ability to produce top-notch lyrics not only in English but also fluently in Spanish.
His next two projects A Lo Fuke (Part 2) and Step Your Game Up(Da Mixtape Vol. 2), the highly anticipated follow up to the 2003 release, are forthcoming. Step Your Game Up, (Vol. 2) hosted by Heavy Hitters own DJ Junior Salinas features Is You A Freak, produced by Jimmy The Greek and Drop It Low produced by Black Violins. We used upcoming producers, no skits, and no extra talk so that people can enjoy the music, says Gordo. Both releases are sure to please hip-hop fans of diverse cultural backgrounds worldwide.
Gordo discovered a passion for rap music at the age of 17 after hearing a mix tape featuring Big Pun, another successful rapper of Hispanic heritage. He was inspired and intensely began to nurture his gift for rhyming over the hottest beats and tracks. In 2001 while attending Howard University as business major, Gordo began working with Gangsta Chronicals Entertainment. In 2003 he parted ways with Gangsta Chronicles Entertainment and connected with Lenny LE Double NY Levergne and Kwabena 99 Grams Nkrumah. Destined for success, Gordos persistence and talent have allowed him the opportunity to work with award winning DJs and perform in front of large audiences as the opening act for well-known artists such as Pitbull and platinum selling artist Lil Wayne.
