About Me
My Life is LOVE, and dedicated to helping others, volunteering, and simplicity. Currently I live in Northern California. Prior to coming here I completed a life changing cross country bicycle ride from Duluth Minnesota, to Miami Florida, to Buras, Louisiana (60 miles south of New Orleans. I decided to turn my bicycle ride into a ride for charities, and it ended up becoming so much more. I spent over three months in south Florida living and volunteering at a homeless project called the Umoja Village (youtube it), a group of activists and community organizers took over a square city block and built a shantytown. We built 40 shanties out of wood pallets and cardboard boxes to protest the housing crisis. Then I spent 3 months volunteers in Louisiana doing Hurricane Katrina disaster relief. These experiences were extremely rewarding and filled my spirit with joy. This leads up to my next charity bicycle ride. I am bicycling to Peru next fall/winter and volunteering at several orphanages, schools, working with street kids, and WWOOFing (organic farming) along the way. I am learning Spanish right now, and trying to raise as much money for these impoverished kids as I can, before I leave.
