Born in Nyack, NY. Attended Berklee School of Music in Boston where he recieved a BMed and Lehman College were he recievrd an M.A.T degree. Hart studied privately with Jazz legend George Benson.
Studied privately with George Benson from 1974 till 19751975, graduated Berklee with Bachelors degree in Music Education, recipient of the Harris Stanton Award. Appeared on Berklee compilation album Jazz in the Classroom (Berklee Records).
1977, appeared on Dr. Lonnie Smith record, Funk Reaction (LRC Records). Subsequently appeared on two more Smith records, When the Night is Right (Chiaroschuro Records) and Aphrodesia (LRC Records).
Traveled inner circles of jazz music circuit sharing the stage with Ron Carter and Jimmy Cobb, both Miles Davis alumni. Also performed with Jack McDuff,Don Patterson,Hubbert Laws, Freddie Hubbard,Etta Jones,Art Taylor,Milt Hinton, Lou Donaldson, Tal Farlow and Steve Gadd, among others.
Worked with other artists such as Don Rickles, Frankie Avalon, Frank Gorshen, Flip Wilson, James Darren and Pat Cooper, in venues around the world, including tours and festivals.
Hart appears in the prestigious L5Gibson book, awarded only to world-class guitarists including Pat Martino, Trefor Owen, Wes Montgomery and Herb Ellis. Artist endorser for Guild Guitar and Phifer Guitars. Headed Western Connecticut State University Jazz Department and taught at Western for Six years.
Returned to Berklee School of Music in Boston as Guitar professor and is leading authority on George Benson, Kenny Burrell and Wes Montgomery teaching classes on each.
Taught successful musicians such as Eric Krasno (Soul Live), Chuck Loeb and Doc Pal (guitarist for Luther Vandross and Aretha Franklin)Mike Feingold(Erica Badu, Kanye West).His first album "Just A Matter Of Time(Carat Records)was released in 1981.Released two solo albums within ten years: Remembering Wes Blue Nights.
1991, released a tribute album to Wes Montgomery entitled Remembering Wes for his longtime idol and mentor.
2001, formed a trio with bassist Rick Petrone and drummer Joe Corsello, resulting in three critically acclaimed albums, Timeless,Blues in the Alley and Greasy Street, featuring an old friend, Dr. Lonni Smith.
2002 released cd "Timeless"2003 released cd "Blues In Thee Allet"2004 released cd "Greasy Street"2004, appeared on Nu Jazz City, with sound-byte producer Steve Secchie.
2005, Greasy Street is charted for over 13 weeks on Jazz Radio charts.
2006, working on a new Jazz/Hip-Hop crossover record, The Godfather: Old School New School.
2008 New Duo release with Bassist Linc Milliman "Quiet Conversations"l
