It's on the way to everywhere just off I-80 between Sacramento and Donner Summit.I grew up in a small town in Northern Nevada. I've lead a life filled with adventure, amazing friends and family and sublime landscapes.I found a passion in Radio as a volunteer DJ for the hippest community radio station in the world KVMR 89.5 FM in Nevada City, California. Becoming a DJ changed the way I think...I love to share some of my world with the community through music.At my core...it's all about my relationship to the landscape. My references are natural and I feel most comfortable outside. I love I love adventure and in all forms and pushing myself physically.Music has been central in my life as well. I grew up with both my Mom and Dad playing music...mostly old-timey stuff: blues, bluegrass, folk and of course rock and roll. I grew up listening to Bob Dylan, Hazel and Alice, Doc Watson, Old and In the Way, old blues greats, and all the psychedelic stuff from the sixties... We didn't have a TV so my brother and sister and I and Mom and Dad spun records all the time and read books and listened to the radio. There was a group of people in my home town that would get together once a week to play music...sometimes as many as twenty people. We called it "Choir Practice" - not sure why... They played old time music mostly and blues and rock. There were several guitars a couple of fiddles, a mandolin or two, the occasional banjo and a lady played the wash tub base. I remember falling asleep listening to them play and sing and drink and smoke.
