About Me
I got my first guitar when I was 9 years old, me and a childhood friend began playing at or about the same time, his name is Jess Redmon, check out his My Space (he is my friend). Jess started a band called the Realm of Sound, we learned a few songs as best as we could and got a few more to join the band. I remember we played at our last day in school in 6th grade, we played 'Hey Joe'. Then we played a party, come on...10 years old? That was the first time, in retrospect, I seen kids get excited about live music. We did a battle of the bands and did real good, didn't place but we hung in there with the big guys (older). Jess kicked me outta the band, har har, personal reasons! As I got older I forgot about the guitar, as time went on... I remembered the guitar,... many times over. When I hit my 20's I took playing seriously, did a buncha garage bands, played the bars and partys, got loaded everytime we rehershed (hic). We did the: play everywhere, but 'my hometown', for what seemed like forever. I started composeing my own material and got the bands I was with to play my stuff. Was a good thing! Finally, I moved to Minneapolis, and thats where it all 'Changed'. At one time in the twin cities, the band I was in (Counter Attack) was called the Motley Crue of the twin cities, etc-etc (thank you Animal), we were with the agency: G.M.A = good milage agency. Need I say more? One night at a local bar, I met up with a local producer, Marty Weintraub, who was with Arlo Hennings publishing. I asked Marty to help me with a few songs, he said ok, pay me. So I did, and the rest is at my band web-site. I got signed to Polygram on a production deal, (if I could sing as well as I can play, I would have been a star , years ago, (thank you Jess Redmon) I've recorded and played with or hung-out or thrown-up on the following: Pixies, Lipps Inc ( oh ya, Funky Town, baby- Cynthia Johnson), Peter Johnson from (Lipps Inc), Eratha Kit ( thats right, the cat women ), John Campell (best fucking Delta Blues man that ever lived_Goddessbless his departed Soul), Tommy Bolin, friend of mine (R.I.P. ), jammed with him (Zepher). And
his brother (Johnny Bolin, whom I used to out drink every time we partied). Percussionist from Smokie Robinson, horn players from Prince, Jesse Johnson from the Time, Shelia E. people, believe it or not: Yanni's (Chameleon), old Band Mates(Dugan), check out his My Space, and a host of Minneapolis-based bands. Chris Whitley (r.i.p.), Bill House (doris Day), Gene Loves Jezebel (Jay was one of my Fave people), And many from Hollywood, including, Mick Fleetwood, Les Rita Mitsouko (france), Brad Gillis, Paul Schaffer, Paul Raven from Killing Joke, bass player from Heart he was playing guitar on the LP we were doing, that was during the Riots in LA riots, eekks .Fronted for many in the 70's- Black Oak Arkansas, The Birds, Iron Butterfly, Edgar Winter, Wild Cherry. And a whole lot more, I can't remember, did too many drugs, etc-etc, har har har! Now: I write songs for me, and about my life experiences. Dont care if I get signed or who hears them. What matters to me, is that I hear them and whom they were composed about hears them. I wrote a song about : when my 10 year old daughter became a maiden, as in her first cycle...if ya know what I mean. That song will air on Myspace ...soon! Enough about me. Tell me about you and yours ; }.
