Brew Ha-Ha Comedy Festival (2008)
Nick Cantone was born in Mount Vernon, NY. At the age of 10, he and his family moved to Richmond, VA. A shy and quiet high school student, Nick became increasingly uncertain about what to pursue after graduation. His uncertainty led him to become disenchanted with the institution of higher education and to question his desire to get a real job.
After dropping out of not one, but two Virginia colleges, he decided to shake up his life. He packed his Jeep and moved to Tampa, FL, where he had no family, no friends, and no job waiting for him. Shortly after arriving in Tampa, Nick secured a job as a busboy, or as he liked to call himself, a "Filth Relocation Engineer" in a restaurant overlooking the Gulf of Mexico on Clearwater Beach.
It was a time of change for Nick, and the biggest change would happen when he walked into a comedy club for the first time. It was on that fateful day that he met Murv Seymour. Murv was an accomplished comedian who took Nick under his wing and helped him develop his talent and pursue a career in comedy. Murv would mentor Nick in comedy and in life over the next few years. For example, Nick now has perfect posture and is no longer afraid to talk to girls.
Comedy has helped Nick evolve into the man he is today. He has gone from performing for 4 drunks and a seeing-eye dog to engaging audiences in some of the top comedy clubs in the country. He has shared the stage with some of the best in the business, opening sold-out shows for many famous headliners including Lewis Black, Dave Attell, Dane Cook, Robert Klein, and Kevin Nealon. Nick's smooth and easygoing style resonates well with audiences, who relate to his personal experiences and witty observations. His talent and desire not to go back to college will continue to propel him in the world of comedy.
