I'm just a guy in a place doing some things. I grew up in NorCal, and have since made SoCal, NorCal (again), Vegas, and SoCal (again) my homes. I have a lot of people I like to consider friends, but a pretty small inner circle of friends inside that larger group. More than anything, though, people know me as a sarcastic s.o.b. who is so good at it, that you're not quite sure when he's joking and when he's serious.
Anybody witty enough to keep up with me in any one of my odd conversations...and Bigfoot.
I feel like I've got a really eclectic taste in music. Rock is probably my favorite form of music. I like a bunch of bands, from Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, and Live to Velvet Revolver, Incubus, Oleander, the Killers, and Foo Fighters. I LOVE crappy 90's music. Crap Rock is also a favorite (Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue). I even listen to a little Sinatra or Dean Martin from time to time. Above all though, I have a special place in my heart for 80's music. Every sunday when I was a kid, my dad and I would go to the store, and on the way there we would listen to Casey's top 40. I pretty much pride myself on being able to name almost any 80's song inside of about 15 notes.
Ocean's 11/12 (including the original 11), the Matrix, Casino, Murder in the First, and I, Robot are all good ones. I also seem to have a special place in my heart for the teen dramadies (drama/comedies). I don't know why, they suck, but nonetheless, I'm addicted. I've been a fan of almost any movie that comes in threes. 61, Field of Dreams and Miracle fill my sports movie fix. I also absolutely love WWII movies like Enemy at the Gates and Saving Private Ryan. The Star Wars saga I could watch all day...and did once. The Shawshank Redemption and Road to Perdition are epic. I guess I just love movies.
The Simpsons and Smallville...and let's not forget It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It's freakin' hilarious!
Moneyball, Prelude to Foundation, and A Wrinkle in Time are three faves...
There used to be a lot, and there are still a few, but now it all starts and ends with my dad. You may not know how great it is to wake up every day, and know you've got one of the best heroes out there in my immediate family, but it's awesome. To fight off the same disease for 8+ years more so for your family than for yourself boggles my mind. He did it, though, and it's amazing to think that after all those years he finally got the surgery he needed and should be back to "normal" soon...wow.
