"We're all just ghosts between concrete and steel"

About Me

HOLST aka Johan Fredrik Holst (28), grew up in Stokke, a little town south of Oslo. He has been making music since the age of six. For the last ten years Holst has been living in Oslo, where he was involved in different bandprojects. In 2005 he decided to go solo, and brought his longtime friend and guitarist Øyvind Ekse along for the ride. Ekse would producde Holsts first album, and keeps playing guitar in Holsts backing band "the distance to empty". Holst is all about using his creativity, and does not limit himself to just songwriting. Recent years has seen him exploring painting and writing shortstories."Making music is what it is all about. My hope is that my songs can mean something to other people, as much and even more than my own songs do to me. Making music is bit like preaching a gospel, and a bit like having a faith. It defines you. Music is where I can truly be myself, in music I am confident."Holst's debut album Between concrete and steel is now availble online. Just some thoughts...

Einstein once said "What I think is interesting about God creating man, did He have any choice?" Strange, after living with my Christian faith for years, I have never been able to answer the question,...
