Love me when I least deserve it, because that's when I need it most.

About Me

I am... Well, I'm a great big geek, but I think I'm actually fairly okay with that. :)
I was a child bride (as a friend is fond of saying), and have been married forever, but we don't have any kids yet. Only the hairy variety. Two dogs and...more cats than I'm willing to admit to. And there are fish, but I'm not sure they really count as pet-kids. There have been attempts at children of the human variety but all we ended up with were some sad stories.
Ah, well. Moving on.
I'm still in school. Or back in school, rather. I used to joke that I was on the twenty-year plan...had no idea at the time that I was telling the truth. I'm studying something that I truly love and they're finally calling me a senior, for all that that means. It's still going to be awhile before I get that coveted peice of paper...and God only knows what I'll do then.
In the meantime, I'm testing out some things and trying to have as much fun as possible. Which explains both my membership in the International Wenches Guild and the stage combat classes. (Huh...who knew I was bloodthirsty?)
I'm sure I'll think of other things to put in this space, but I'm fairly certain that - in the meantime - my answers to some of these other questions will say more about me than I realize. Enjoy. :)
You scored as Jane Bennet, As someone who would rather see the good in people, Jane is a true pacifist and caregiver. At times, her shy temperament and naive outlook of people can land her in a compliant position, but those who know her love her for her positive spirit and cheerful view of what surrounds her.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People that make me laugh.
People that make me think.
People that challenge me to be a better person.

Music:

Yes, please.

I think I enjoy a fairly wide range of music, though when I'm at home I tend to listen to the same things for fairly long chunks. And I seem to have a fondness for soundtracks. At the moment "Down With Love", "Love Actually" and "Wicked". (And, until just recently, "Avenue Q".)

My music tastes also seem to change depending on what I'm doing. If I'm sewing or home alone, I tend towards more upbeat 'gay boy' music. (So dubbed by an actual gay male, not my own designation.) Preferences tend to be season soundtracks from "Queer As Folk" and old Erasure. If I've been entirely too excitable (it happens), then I'll maybe dig out Enya or the African drum/Spanish guitar cd (the title of which escapes me at the moment).

Pretty much, the only music that makes me want to slit my wrists is either country music or hard core rap.

Movies:

Oh, this is hard...
Costume movies, because I'm just as happy watching good clothing as I am watching good acting.
"Sense and Sensibiliyy" - Emma Thompson/Hugh Grant/Alan Rickman version.
"Much Ado About Nothing" - the Emma Thomson / Kenneth Branaugh version.
"The Boondock Saints" - high body count, but beautiful. Willum Defoe is frickin' brilliant.
"Hero" - pretty, pretty, pretty and the fight scenes just knock my socks off.
"The Princess Bride" - because, well, it is what it is. And Carey Elwes still makes me blush and sigh.
All of the Harry Potter movies. Because, well, I'm a geek.
The LOTR movies. Ditto the geek thing.
"The Secret of NIMH" - the lullaby during the credits still makes me weepy.
"Moulin Rouge" - because the costumes are beautiful and so is Ewan McGregor.
"What Dreams May Come" - I actually have some difficulty remembering this one, but I remember being quite moved and I'll never forget how it affected my dreams. I always dream in brilliant color. Always. My dreams are so vibrant that I can't distinguish them from real life until something completely bizarre happens. But...the night I watched this movie, I dreamt in black and white. Except for one leaf on one tree, which was the most beautiful shade of orange I've ever seen. It defied words and I woke crying.

Television:

I don't watch TV. Really. Who has time for it?

I remember really enjoying "Gilmore Girls", "Enterprise" and "Veronica Mars", though. And back in the day I watched a ton of "Dharma and Greg" and "The Simpsons".

Books:

Oh, boy. There are entirely too many to list. All of the Harry Potter books, though I still kinda want to toss Book Five through a window. I had a lot of fun with the M.Y.T.H. books, and the first six of the Spellsinger series. (Books seven and eight? Ick. There was a reason the series stopped at six for so long.) For no-brainer books with just the right amout of sex, I'll go for early Sharon Green any day. (The Diana Sanatee books are really bad, but I keep reading them anyway. The Mida books were more difficult to get into, probably because it was a much longer series.) As for books that have changed my life? Hrm... A Heroine of the World by Tanith Lee. Alternitavely, Days of Grass by the same author. Kinda of the same story, in a sci-fi setting. Very interesting to compare similarities and differences. The first two Frank E Peretti books. Winter Rose by Patricia A McKillip. Oh, and The Red Tent by... Drat. Her name is escaping me. Something Diamant. Well - I may not remember the author's name, but her characters have shaped quite a few of the decisions I've made in my own life since then.
That's all that comes to mind immediately, but I'm sure there's more...

Heroes:

Well...lots of people, actually. For pretty varied reasons. My parents, for more reasons than I can name. Benah, Grandma and Grammy for their encredible strength. Jeff, for giving me a goal and never realizing that he was the bar I measured myself against. Greg, for Double-Dog-Daring me to realize that I really *could* do anything I wanted, even if people were trying their hardest to hold me back. Lots of people...
