“RAD-ONE”Since childhood Rad has been influenced by all things hip-hop and all things in the entertainment industry. Exposed to acting by his older brother Rad has obtained the skills of the dramatic arts and has since then bit by the acting bug and went into dramatic arts in school along with classes such as advertising and photography. While growing up in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn was a challenge for Rad during the 80’s which was later known as the crack era, Rad was exposed to hip-hop through break dancing, and graffiti which later grew to a love for the music, listening to such groups as Slick Rick, 3rd Bass, Eric B. and Rakim, and KRS-1 to name a few. He was quickly influenced by this music and lifestyle which was everyday life for him, and later picked up a mic to hone his skills whish will lead to him becoming the lyricists and producer he now is.Influenced by his favorite rapper in his era (Rakim) he began his never ending journey into the field of music. Rad is no average rapper knowing all to well the life of poverty and the welfare system Rad doesn’t try to reflect that in his music “ my music is my heart and it should be felt by those pure at heart, like falling in love for the first time, you get butterflies in your stomach.” He’s found that like acting making music first begins with the soul and then the understanding of the art. Rad is no stranger to the entertainment field, he has done things from dancing on Club MTV which was hosted by Downtown Julie Brown then later becoming a dancer for MTV’S The Grind, during those years Rad went on to be an extra in films such as Sugar Hill, Down to Earth, Who’s da man?, even made cameo appearances in music videos such as City High’s “ what would you do?” And the old school Technotronic video “Drop this house beat.”Rad later went on to produce the sound tracks and score to some independent films such as George Lopez’s “The Invaders” in which he and his rap partner Assas had supporting roles in the film, Rad also was the music co-ordinater and produced some of the sound track for Deborah Pointer (co-executive producer of Russell Simmons Def Poetry) and Karma Stanley for korner stonez productions independent film called “What Goes Around Comes Around” which made its debut at the New York International Film Festival in November of 2005.With a love for his skills he filmed his own music video along with rap partner Assas Da Assassin, on 16mm black and white film in which he edited and produced and later had a brief airing of the video on MTV’S Direct Effect with then host DJ. Clue. Rad is determined to make the world feel him in any way it be possible, “I want to reach the masses like Moses did when he spoke to the world of Egypt.” Rad One is a force to be messed with, the blood of hardship, love loyalty and dedication setbacks and disappointments, along with the mind of a mogul, and a strategic general Rad One is destined to have the world listen...
