Ok, so when your signed by the same label that brought you DJ Mentat, and your first single features the production skills of not only DJ Mentat but also Harry Love, not to mention Kiss 100's DJ MK on cuts, that you've got something special, well Syaman is that, impressing big names up and down the country, and having your first single featured on the very exclusive DJ MK mix-cd above board, that features some of the biggest names in the scene including Roots Manuva, Skinnyman and Rodney P. Syaman is set to take the UK scene by storm with his incredible flow and wordplay.
I've been rapping for 13 years, and been making beats for 5 years. I joined a group called R.D.S. (Real Deal Squad) in 1996. We released an E.P which featured the single "Can't Cope". which i co-produced with the other members, we also performed at various venues around the country. In 2001 i decided to create my own group A-Starz, which consisted of Keyz and myself. In 2003 we distributed are E.P. demo cd around, which we both co-wrote and produced. This E.P. got us plenty of shows around London, we also performed it on Trevor Nelsons "The Lick" show on MTV BASE and also on BBC Two. Our track also featured in Undercover magazine, and was also supported by Genesis FM and Choice FM.
In 2004 I met DJ MENTAT, I dropped him a copy of the A-Starz E.P/demo. He said he was "feelin it" and he was setting up a label. then I designed a logo for him. Eight months later I hit him up with a mini disc full of my beats, then I dropped some verses over his beats live in the car. Mentat was like "Yeah I've got to sign you your dope." Since then I've been supporting DJ Mentat & Skinnyman up and down the country, working on my album, the A-Starz album and DJ Mentats album. Also making a few appearences on BBC Radio 1xtra and Force 106.5 FM.

My first single "Where I Wanna Be" produced by DJ Mentat and written by myself (Syaman) will feature on DJ MK's brand new album called Above Board, which features Kyza, Pirelli, Rodney P, Skinnyman, Jehst and many other UK stars. Things are moving at such a fast pace now I've met DJ Mentat a.k.a. my Dre he's taken me on board and has given me the confidence and let me know that were gonna be something special. We could be the next Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth of the UK so WATCH THIS (my)SPACE.
