Swimming, singing, dancing, reading, watching movies (preferably very esoteric foreign films), keeping up my French, meditating, wine tasting (and wine drinking!) going to see live music, my favorite being jazz concerts and plays. I so thoroughly enjoyed the 50th Monterey Jazz Festival in September 2007. I can't wait for the 51st.

I'm in an Indie phase right now, but KYDS doesn't do a playlist so, who I like, I have no freaking clue. I'm reduced to googling whatever lyrics I can make out. I love Modest Mouse, Sufjan Stevens, The Decemberists, Wolf Parade and most of all Radiohead. As for other music, I love jazz, latin jazz, raggae, classical, folk, neosoul, and 60's rock. Ani DiFranco, Bob Marley, Pixies, REM, Erykah Badu, Tribe Called Quest, Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, The Bad Plus, Plastic Nebraska, Sleater-Kinney, Cream, Led Zeppelin, James Brown, CAKE, the late great Bueno Vista Social Club, Arturo Sandoval, the Gipsy Kings, Fleetwood Mac. I like music that is soulful, artful, intellectual, poetic, and passionate.
Je t'aime Paris, Two Days in Paris, Terms of Endearment, My Dinner with Andre, Shrek, Monsters Inc, The Joy Luck Club, Happenstance, Cinema Paradiso, The Parrots of Telegraph Hill, Anchorman, What the Bleep Do We Know?. The Spanish Apartment. I like silly, funny, fluffy movies too sometimes. Wedding Crashers rules. I love The Jerk!
I don't want TV regularly, but I love Family Guy, Adul;t Swim, and most of all, old Seinfeld reruns. When I'm not watching NOVA, you might find me sucked into a Top Chef marathon. I have tried to pursuade people that reality television is similar to watching documentaries, but I have been met with limited success on that one. I do enjoy intellectual television most of the time.
Currently working on Eckart Tolle, "A New Earth," the currently Oprah club selection, and it has really altered my perception of consciousness, I love it. I gravitate towards marketing/business and soulwork/self-help books - but I want to start reading literature in the near future. I think I'll start with Steinbeck and work out towards the existentialists.
I don't have any heroes, but I am moved by people who genuinely care about other people.
