He is Y.S. or Young Sonny, as he is known in Winton Terrace the neighborhood where he grew up. As a small child Sonny was influenced by music growing up in a family of musicians. Sonny mixes this musical heritage with lyrics that shines light on the harsh realities of inner city life, creating his own in your face style known as Block Music. Y.S. chronicles the day-to-day life on the streets of Cincinnati, Ohio.Not just a rapper Sonny also produces his own music making him a double threat. As a producer, he has work with and produce music for some the hottest artist in Cincinnati making Sonny one of the most sought after rapper and producer in the tri state. He hopes his newfound popularity will aid in the growth of his label and production company.Sonny released his first album Trials & Tribulations in June 2005 and is currently working on his sophomore album Street Anthems. To keep the streets watching he released Beast Mode a 11 track compilations introducing some of the newest and hottest artist on his Block Music label.
