I am here for Friends

About Me

I had rotator cuff/shoulder surgery on 10/31. My right shoulder has been bothering me since little league baseball so this is the final solution to years of pain. Physical therapy continues at home now following 12 weeks off from work (with pay). Thanks to all who have sent well wishes. Running outdoors, tennis & soon golf have all started up again now that my shoulder is getting stronger. I even ran a half-marathon on March 15th! I am helping a buddy of mine get faster. He is on a mission to finish the 2009 Red Rose 5 mile run in 35 minutes. That's about 3:55 better than is rookie Red Rose in 2008. We were @ the U.S. Open Tennis Championships on Friday August 29. Our 10th year in a row! Saw lots of good tennis w/ our friends the Potters along with us for the first time. Our daughter Sophia got some autographs too. Yes, we were the crazy people who stayed until the last point of the last match. Andy Roddick won in Arthur Ashe Stadium @ 1:34 AM. The Philadelphia Eagles had a darn good 2008-2009 campaign and we have already received our first bill for '09-'10 season tickets. It never ends!! The Phillies are the WORLD CHAMPIONS of baseball! What a special year that was for all of us! Stephanie and I were married 15 years on October 2. We have two daughters, Sophia 14 and Olivia 11. Our other "daughter" is our 6 year old Wheaten Terrier "Chloe." MOVIES: "In Bruges" was really good - pleasantly surprised. I watched all the deleted scenes as well and I am glad I did. I put in "American Werewolf In London" to get in the Halloween spirit. It's a classic. Made me thirsty seeing all the fine folk in the pub - ha! Recently I finished watching "Little Children." I read the book early this year and it was time to see the movie. I liked the acting, especially Kate Winslet's performance. "The Lives Of Others" is, along with "The Pianist," a recent movie that I rated a rare 5 star. The all-around quality was impeccable. I won't say anymore so you can let it move you like it did me. If you want an action flick with all the fix-ins then rent "Crank" starring Jason Statham. Look out, he's a man on a mission!! This film took my by surprise how good it was. "Waitress" was enjoyed throughout and the ending made it all the better! F U Earl! Wal Mart was exposed for all the greed they are possessed by in the documentary "Wal Mart, The High Cost Of Low Prices." Don't fall for their smiley face brainwashing. A Tom Snyder "The Tomorrow Show" punk/new wave series disc #1 was worth the time! Seeing a very young Joan Jett & Paul Weller interviewed, Iggy Pop rockin' out like he don't give a shit and Wendy O Williams/Plasmatics blowing up a car all on national TV made me smile. "Control," the movie based on the Joy Division years of Ian Curtis was exceptional. I didn't want it to end as we all know the inevitable. When I was young I did not comprehend suicide in the least. Life has a way of making it clear and I now I feel bad for Ian instead of how I felt back then. Which was "WTF did he do that for?!" If I only could have had a talk with him about his relationship situation, you don't need that many meds for seizures and that alcohol counteracts seizure medication so only have one beer Ian! "Kite Runner" the movie stayed very true to the book. They took the most necessary of meaningful scenes from the book so as to fit it into approximately 2 hours. Hard to do but they pulled it off. I still highly recommend the book as because the reader gets drawn in with every detail and not just the main ones. SPORTS: I attended 4 Phillies games this season and ya know what? They lost every freakin' one of them. I sold tickets to two games because I want them to win. It's now 18 years I have had season tickets for our NFL team, the Philadelphia Eagles. We sit in section 225 @ the Linc. which is the old 738 of The Vet. 150 games in attendance and it's still a blast to be there! My wife & I went to the Super Bowl in early 2005 and although we lost I was thankful I could see it in person. FAMILY: Our oldest daughter Sophia is a freshman in high school! Sophia is still taking her once a week private tennis lesson in hopes of playing on the high school "A" team someday. She made the "B" team this fall and is having fun. She is also head over heels for Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers band. She went to see them earlier this year in Reading and has recently joined their fan club. Both her & Olivia saw them in Hershey on July 25th. Olivia is doing well. She is onto 5th grade in the fall and continues in her 4th year of guitar lessons. For Christmas she is getting her 1st electric guitar! She participated in the "Race Against Racism" 5K on April 26.I am half Polish & half German = an all American boy who, although a perfectionist, has a sense of humor and can even relax at times! If I would win the lottery I would travel all over the world w/ my family, visit my friends and family more often and quit work to volunteer @ St. Christopher's Children's Hospital in Philadelphia for obvious reasons. Having children myself I know what it is like when they simply don't feel well. My heart hurts just imagining being in a hospital. I would want to help the child and their family any way I could.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I want to meet and gather all the world's leaders, sit them down and yell "Why can't we all get along?!?!" Jesus Christ; George Washington; Ben Franklin; Johnny Cash; Mother Teresa; Bon Scott; Pope John Paul II; JFK & RFK; Sid Vicious; Martin Luther King; The Ramones (although I saw them 10 times); Jack Nicklaus; Jimmy Connors; Michael Jack Schmidt; Tiger Woods; Winston Churchill; Clint Eastwood; John Peel; Howard Stern & crew; Alfred Hitchcock; Stephen King; Jonathan Safran Foer; Jay Jay Okocha (so good they named him twice) and then I would visit the Virgin Suicides and cheer them up.

My Blog

Manchester, so much to thank you for.

Since my brother Tom moved back to PA he has been respectfully suggesting I sell all or most of my albums and singles. Vinyl for sale! This is a heartfelt decision coming from someone who calls...
