I am the resident Doctor on This Morning and i have been on the show since the first day back in 1987!I qualified as a doctor in 1968 and have worked as a GP in South Manchester ever since. I became interested in treating patients who smoked in the early 1970s and I am now recognised as an international expert in smoking cessation and nicotine addiction. I have lectured on this subject in over 27 countries around the world, making numerous media appearances.I believe that my prominent position in the media is an ideal platform for me to educate millions of people on health issues and hopefully save lives! As well as my daily GP work and television appearances, i've written extensively on health and medical issues over the past 30 years, notably on the subject of quitting smoking, babies, and young children.I'm the proud parent of four children, two boys and two girl, along with my wife Monica who is a midwife.
