NASCAR!! Michael Waltrip is the man; this point is non-negotiable. I run mikeypower.com, where I write race reports about him and his peeps. 90% of my vacations are to races. Pocono is my favourite track. Other interests include my career (supporting five young adults with autism), the New England Patriots, Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, David Hewlett, music, ancient Egyptian mythology, writing, reading, playing on the computer, lucid dreaming, animal rights, miscellaneous poo...
My favourite bands are matchbox twenty and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I am also in love with Rob Thomas and John Frusciante's solo works. Other bands and musicians I like include Lennon Murphy, Blue October, Blessid Union of Souls, Papa Roach, Cake, Dido, On A Safer Shore, Evanescence, My Chemical Romance, Foo Fighters, They Might Be Giants, Lifehouse, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Third Eye Blind, Linkin Park, Goo Goo Dolls, Lifehouse, Coldplay, Pink Floyd, and many more.
My favourites are Dogma, Fight Club, the Star Wars trilogy, Phantom of the Opera, TMNT, Cube, Scanners 2, Overboard, While You Were Sleeping, Clerks, and My Own Private Idaho.
The vast majority of the television I watch is racing-related - whether I'm watching a NASCAR or IRL race live, a racing news program, or my favourite driver Michael Waltrip's race review show Inside Nextel Cup. I am crazy about Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis and also like Firefly, Heroes, and Numb3rs too. My classic favourites include The X-Files, MacGyver, Diagnosis Murder, and My So-Called Life. I am a sucker for cheesy teenage drama. I watch the Canadian show Degrassi: The Next Generation. Lately, I've been watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles a hell of a lot, definitely more than most grown-ups.
I read a lot of autobiographies. I've read books written by racers, such as Dale Earnhardt Jr, Donnie Allison, Kurt Busch, Jeff Gordon, crew chief Jeff Hammond, NASCAR wife Angie Skinner... the cream of that crop were the books written by Darrell Waltrip and by Tony Stewart. I've read a lot of books about racing in general. Ed Hinton's Daytona is incredible! I've also read Chili Pepper Anthony Kiedis' autobiography, and nonfiction by William Burroughs. Other favourite books include Shakespeare's Hamlet, S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders, Henry David Thoreau's Walden, Alexander Dumas' The Three Musketeers, Stephen King's The Stand, and William Goldman's The Princess Bride. I read fluff too. I've been reading Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis novels; the series from the United Kingdom kicks ass. Lately, I've been reading classic literature and comic books. I'm reading Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, and I just finished a stack of TMNT comics and desperately need more.
