The Heise Bros.

About Me

"It started off as a solo project but then I realized Robert was on every track and helping me with the arrangements, so it ended being The Heise Bros.” says Nelson Heise about The Heise Bros. The Heise Bros. debut release was called Listen & Learn with The Heise Bros., their sophomore effort continues where Listen & Learn left off, entitled: The Continuing Saga of The Heise Bros. To complete the trilogy, the brothers put out III: The Return of The Heise Bros. The brothers weren’t alone on the disc; they got tons of help from local twin cities and Columbus musicians contributing drums, guitars, keyboards, vocals and even some cello. Joshua “Stook” Stuckey laid down some killer guitar licks he’s known for from his album, The Soundtrack To My Minneapolis. Matt Egger joined the brothers playing guitar, drums, piano and whatever. Toby Lee Marshall laid down some vicious keyboard parts. Michael Velasquez, Stacie Archer and Kirk Liska, established drummers in the Twin Cities pounded out some backbeats. Toby Cryns stepped in and did some piano work. Jennifer Berg and Akuorkor Ablorh added a female presence to the albums with some backing vocals, and high school senior Tim Binger swung by the studio to do some cello work. Caleb Garn took the time to mix the messes Nelson presented to him, and as always the ‘solid as a rock’ Jon Chinn mastered the albums at Workbook Studio in Columbus, OH.The end result is pure fun indie americana rock; the kind of music you make love too.
