Cary grew up the middle of 3 children in the shadows of New York City. His mother, Erika (artist and photographer from Germany), father George (a shipbroker) and sister, Katharina (artist and healer) and brother Stephen (filmmaker and actor).At the age of 12, Cary began his professional theatre experience in a regional tour of Pinnochio. For many years he performed this and many other roles in different Childrens Theater shows. After becoming a real boy, Cary studied for a year at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, and moved to Rutgers College where he graduated with a degree in Economics.At the end of college, Cary accidently returned to acting, stumbling into an independent film. He began studying Meisner at the William Esper Studio and scene study with legendary director and coach, Wynn Handman.Since then, Cary has performed Off-Broadway in Dewpoint (Hudson Guild Theatre), An American Family (Women's Project) and The Dead Boy at the Key West Playwrights with both Oscar Nominated Roy Scheider (“Jawsâ€) and Mercedes Ruehl (“Bigâ€).Cary has also been in both independent films that had runs at major festivals Bigel/Mailer's The Money Shot, Joe Miale's Nobody , and Georgia Lee's Red Doors , Keeping the Faith and Almost Famous , TV film and show Mary and Rhoda and Third Watch.In September 2003, Cary landed the role of “Tom†in the feature film, Life, Translated , which was shot outside London, England for 3 months. Shooting in England was a blast for Cary who got to spent time in the countryside of his ancestral roots. In the summer of this year, Cary added Chinese to his list of spoken languages co-starring in the tv show Niu Niu Yinyu Yibai Ju with famous Chinese writer/actress Niu Niu in China where Cary speaks both English and Chinese.In 2005, Cary has completed 6 films and the play Mutant Sex Party by the Drilling Company. By the end of year was a in “Heaven Fire†a TV show with Jessica Hsuan and Wang Xue Qi.In early 2006 Cary was the lead in WHITE LABEL, Tenzin Wangchuk, Dir., and A Shade Before Pink, Jackee Chang, Dir. - both shot in Los Angeles.
In May, Cary finished shooting CHINA 1949, where he was the first foreign lead of a Chinese feature film and August finished JIN AN a CCTV drama taking place in San Francisco during the early 1900's

Cary also writes plays and film scripts, and occasionally directs . His first film was Chardonnay From a Coffee Can, starring Laura Poe (“Arlington Roadâ€) and Oksana Lada (“The Sopranosâ€). In February 2003, Cary wrote and directed The Survivor and in September this year, Cary finished production on a film, A Tree Grows Out Harlem, a beautiful poetic film with the help of a grant from the New York State Council of the ArtsP
