In a musical landscape saturated with heavy emotions, thick metaphors and over-thought imagery, Salt Lake City's Rob Alvord serenades audiences with an acoustic blend of pure melodies and simple hooks in hopes of bringing back that classic pop-rock sound that people catch themselves whistling happily while walking down the street.
Surrounded by musicians at a young age, Rob eventually picked up his own instruments and began playing with bands around the area. He soon began creating his own tunes, drawing influence from great pop acts like The Beach Boys, and The Beatles while mixing in other elements of rock, folk, and jazz such as Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, and Louis Armstrong.
Rob's musical talents have definitely not gone unnoticed earning him recognition as the state finalist for the 2009 BMI John Lennon song writing contest. No matter where he plays, Rob consistently leaves the venue with a more positive energy than how he found it, and audiences are always left wanting more.
Rob Alvord's Debut Self-Titled album is now available at all live performances and online now.
