About Me

By day, I’m a mild-mannered professional working as a Finance Analyst in the healthcare field.
By night, I shed my ‘corporate casual’ skin for something a bit more daring and become a Rock Goddess! ;-)
I’m a Tribute Producer and Community Liaison for Layne Staley Fund, which raises funds for heroin and drug recovery while honoring Layne Staley of Alice in Chains. The Tribute Team is a joy to be a part of and 2008 was amazing! We held 3 big events to honor Layne and each one was special on its own. Now that it's 2009, we're in the planning stages for the 8th Annual Layne Staley Tribute & Benefit Concert coming to you in August.
I started my own production company in 2008 called Darrow Music Productions. I want to utilize my passion for music in a constructive & positive way by helping bands realize their musical dreams. My production company can do everything from producing & promoting live events to helping artists write their bios. Please contact me if you need some help with your band!
Exploring new places and cultures fascinates me to no end. I love to absorb and observe the world around me so I vacation somewhere new at least once a year.
I enjoy sports and during football season you’ll find me at Qwest Field with 67,000 other sports nuts, screaming our lungs out for the Seahawks to win!
As far as my quieter side goes, writing creatively, gardening, reading and dabbling in photography brings me inner peace.
Dolphins and Wolves are my favorite wild creatures and I belong to various charity groups that work to ensure their survival. I am definitely a 'dog person' and can't consider my life complete without having one by my side.
At times, I crave to escape the city and become one with nature. I've found that hiking is a great stress reliever! The time spent on a trail is soothing to the soul.
I also love the ocean and the need to be near, on or in the water is part of my being; hence the nickname...Zen Mermaid!
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ---WOW, what a ride!!" Anonymous
Humankind has not woven the web of life
We are but one thread within it
Whatever we do to the web,
We do to ourselves
All things are bound together
All things connect

My dog Lucky - Rest In Peace, dear friend
The following is from Paul Bowles' The Sheltering Sky, 1949. Brandon Lee quoted it in his last interview and it is etched on his tombstone in Seattle. I like to read it when I think I'm getting too complacent:
.. "Death is always on the way, but the fact that you don't know when it will arrive seems to take away from the finiteness of life. It is that terrible precision that we hate so much. But because we don't know, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well.
Yet everything happens only a certain number of times, and a very small number really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, some afternoon that's so deeply a part of your being that you can't even conceive of your life without it? Perhaps 4 and 5 times more. Perhaps not even. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps 20. And yet it all seems limitless..."

"Iron" Mike Savoia recorded Travis Bracht of Second Coming performing "TRAVISTY" at the Layne Staley Fund Pre-Show Party on Aug 22, 2008.
Check it out - it'll blow you away!

Below is the 'Layne Staley Lives Within' slideshow I created for the 7th Annual Layne Staley Tribute & Benefit Concert that took place on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Showbox Sodo in Seattle, WA. It was played as the fans walked into the venue. It has no audio because we played it in conjunction with the Mad Season CD 'Above'. Thank you to all the L'Angels who sent me all their amazing tattoo, LSF t-shirt & Baby Layne pics to help me make this slideshow for you. Hope you enjoy it!

I'd like to meet:

     Kindred Musical Spirits

Open Up the Sky
(In Honor of Layne Staley)

Dark clouds looming above the earth
Another day without your soul
Forecast fills with gloom and lack of mirth
Within the Sea of Sorrow

We followed your musical odyssey
Mapped with signs of depth and meaning
While poison polluted your veins
Masking life and joy with such cruelty
Still, you forged on to create and inspire
Until the frailty of the addicted
Cut your journey short so severely

Now, in the stillness that surrounds you
Can you feel the warmth
Can you hear the sound of your own voice
Rising upwards from the voices who adore
To open up the sky
So you can look down and see
How your music has inspired us even more
