A prayer I have always shared...
Im currently playing Bass for the Blended and contemporary Service at a Baptist Church in Georgetown. This has been my calling for sometime now.
I am also working on a few projects with some contemporary Christian groups.
One of the projects our band is working on is with a 14 yr old singer/songwriter. We played at the Red Poppy fest in Georgetown on the square,Sat. April 26th. She sang like an angel! She did some original songs she wrote, some Christian/country/covers and The Planet Texas Band did a great job backing her up. Here is one of the videos..enjoy!When we do a show we play mainly original music for exposure but we play a set of those rockin favorites we all love to dance to like Mustang Sally, Brown Eyed Girl, some ZZ Top, SRV, Lynard Skynard, and Thin Lizzy's Cowboy Song which is one of my favorites we do, well you get the picture. I not really a songwriter but I can write some great "stay home" Bass parts and learn just about anything in a short amount of time.
EVEN THOUGH I LOVE PLAYING CLASSIC ROCK AND THE BLUES,and some hard rock,my favorite is CHRISTIAN/pop/rock,IF YOU GET A CHANCE LISTEN TO 102.3 THE RIVER..i THINK YOULL LIKE IT TOO.
My passion is walking the bass like Tommy Shannon who is my greatest influence, but I like playing all the rock classics which have influenced my style too.
I have many years of live performing / studio time experience and have rocked the stage at many clubs here in Austin including Maggie Maes as well as warming up for some popular acts including Del Castillo, Vallejo, Patricia Vonne, Kings of the Motel 6, Joe King Carrasco, and played bass for Joe Miranda with Uncle John Turner on the drums,(Tommy Shannon's drummer for the Johnny Winter band and others!)That was a dream come true for me rockin with a blues legend like Unc. I not willing to tour all over the place unless it pays very well. I just want to play more often right here in the capitol of Texas!
