Tim Stafford

Tim Stafford is the guitarist with the band Blue Highway, which he helped found in 1994. He is also an acclaimed teacher, producer and songwriter. He has been fortunate to play guitar and sing on projects by Jesse McReynolds, Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, Jorma Kaukonen, Marty Raybon, Tony Trischka, Michelle Shocked, Kenny Chesney, Melonie Cannon, Benny Sims, Ronnie Bowman, Jim Mills, Larry Sparks, Adam Steffey, Adrienne Young, Jimmy Sturr, Charles Sawtelle, Joe Isaacs, James Shelton, Don Rigsby, Donna Hughes, Steve Gulley, Rob Ickes, Shawn Lane, Alan Bibey, Jack Tottle, Butch Baldassari, Andy Hall, and many others. He has produced recordings by several artists, including Kenny Chesney, Chris Jones, Ric-o-chet, The Acutab Sessions, Jack Tottle and the Infamous Stringdusters. Tim's songs appear on recordings by Larry Sparks, Blue Highway, Lonesome River Band, Alecia Nugent, Bill Emerson, Claire Lynch, Dan Tyminski, Ronnie Bowman, Mountain Heart, Kenny and Amanda Smith, Don Rigsby, Jim Hurst, Donna Hughes, Newfound Road, Grasstowne, April Verch, Tim Hensley and others. He has won 11 IBMA Awards, a Dove Award, 3 SPBGMA Awards and a Grammy Award. His book (co-written with Caroline Wright), "Still Inside: The Tony Rice Story," will be released on Word of Mouth Press in 2009.
