About Me


In 1985, Damien Earl Matthias, p.k.a. E-Love, made his debut as a producer when he co-produced LL Cool J’s first hit album, Radio, which went double platinum and earned E-Love Grammy, MTV, and multiple Soul Train Awards. In 1986, E-Love teamed up with LL again, producing the album Bigger ‘N Deffer, which went triple platinum. The featured single, I’m Bad, won the American Music Awards’ Song of the Year.
After establishing Headstone Entertainment in 2001, Damien added screenwriting, packaging and producing films – including Breakfast in Vegas, The Thug and the Princess, and Here Comes the Sun – to his list of accomplishments. In 2004, his company took on a new name, Diamond Kut Entertainment, which incorporates film, music, and sports management targeted toward the worldwide MTV/BET audience.
While working in the New York and Los Angeles production communities, Damien’s built an extensive network of industry alliances around the globe. Capitalizing on his broad production experience and shrewd negotiating ability, Damien continues to manage diverse deals from conception through fruition; and develop ancillary opportunities including soundtracks for video games.
Instrumental in launching the careers of Tupac Shakur and John Forte, Damien has produced and directed numerous music videos, including for the award-winning single I'm Goin’ Back to Cali for LL Cool J, which he co-produced with Rick Rubin, Co-founder of Def Jam Records. Damien has also collaborated with Russell Simmons on developing a successful marketing plan for Def Jam Records.
Known by many as “E-Love,” he generated thousands of fans around the world while touring with LL, Whodini, and other rising stars. In reality, Damien “E-Love” Matthias – with his keen eye for recognizing, developing, and marketing untapped talent – has created the foundation for today’s urban Hip Hop music.
A noteworthy contributor to the entertainment business, Damien donates a portion of his production company’s proceeds to The A. Craig Matthias Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting emerging filmmakers and creative “at risk” youth.
