About Me

Gayle Day is vocals so warm you just want to curl up in their amber glow; Gayle Day is songwriting so nakedly honest you're almost afraid to touch it - yet somehow, you can't resist; Gayle Day is as American as, well, apple pie. Or vegan apple pie anyway.Like so many "converts," Gayle seems to understand her adopted home with insight and clarity sometimes elusive to the native. Born in a London suburb, Gayle grew up watching American television shows and always dreamt of living in the energy of the United States. She left her central London home and moved into a New York City apartment on September 10th, 2001. She spent September 12th huddled around a television crying with a couple dozen fellow expats. On the 13th she went for a walk in Central Park, met a couple of musicians, and they wrote and recorded a song about their experience. In 2003 Gayle finished her journey west and settled in Los Angeles where she wrote and recorded her debut record Freedom Paradise. Even a cosmopolitan music capitol like Los Angeles isn't wide enough for Gayle's ever-roaming musical mind, so in preparation for her upcoming record she's been shuttling between her LA home and Nashville where she's been collaborating with a range of prominent songwriters. In her "spare time" Gayle has started a producing company, "Gaia Rocks," a music licensing company, "LA LA Music," produced the first ever Los Angeles Women's Music Festival featuring over 50 artists on 5 stages, and written for and placed her music in a range of film and television projects. With LA LA Music, Gayle and nine other writers are writing in a wide range of musical styles, and placing and pitching music on a large scale. This summer Gayle and Gaia Rocks co-founder Miria joined forces with Warrior Girl Music to produce Females on Fire. Gaia Rocks will continue to book compelling artists in venues in Los Angeles and beyond, as well as produce the 2nd annual LA Women's Music Festival next summer.Gayle Day has her fingers in a lot of pies... in a lot of vegan American apple pies. But at the end of the day it's really pretty simple. Gayle Day is an artist. Gayle Day is a human being. She's built a career of combining those two things in the simplest, most honest, most direct way she can. She loves animals and promotes animal rights and awareness. She's doing her best to save the animal world one rescue at a time, one vegan chili-cheese dog at a time. Just ask Bebe, Betty, and Barbara.Gayle Day loves animals, cooks vegan meals with love, writes honest songs, and sings them with the most sublime vocals you can imagine.
