About Me

THE BIOGRAPHY OF QUEEN AFTAN M WILLIAMSAffectionately known as “Queen Aftan”, Aftan Marenthia Williams is the founder of Music Uniting Sisters Initiating Courage, Character and Care (M.U.S.I.C.). This program came about after she was bit by the “pageant bug” in 2002. The pageants she competed in all had a set platform and focus but none of them affected her in her personal life. She had always noticed young ladies carrying themselves as less than a queen with low self-esteem, and she was determined to fix that problem. She teaches and encourages young ladies to be queens at all times, to call themselves queens and require the same of others. The program is now known as I AM A QUEEN, LLC as of September 2008. After being elected Winter Formal Queen in her Junior year of high school at McDonogh #35 College Preparatory High School in 2001, Queen Aftan begin to win many other pageant titles from 2002-2008. In all of the pageants she won “Most Ads Sold”! While competing, Queen Aftan realized the importance of giving back. She has done over 3400 hours of community service. Clark Atlanta University rendered her two community service awards for leadership and commitment. Those qualities earned her acknowledgement and special selection into the New DEAL (Dean’s Excellence and Leadership) Program. She was one of only ten chosen in the entire University. Recently she graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in the area of Mass Communications: Public Relations. Queen Aftan is a “southern girl” that hails from New Orleans, Louisiana. Being born to Mr. Clarence W. Williams and Ms. Mary W. Williams has been a unique experience as she was an only child. A month after her 13th birthday she became a big sister to Zabryn L. Williams. Queen Aftan’s design is creative, with gifts and anointing to sing, dance, act and model. She has many accomplishments in those various areas such as being an extra on television and in films like, Three Can Play That Game and Stomp the Yard, being featured on the Trumpet and Stellar Awards, currently serving as the director and choreographer for two dance ministries, an international cheerleading squad and more! She is a member of Lambda Theta Rho Alpha Synfonette Sorority, Inc and Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority, Inc. She is very active in her church, Changing A Generation Full Gospel Baptist Church-Atlanta where Bishop Paul S Morton is her pastor. In all of this, Queen Aftan has put God first. She has been humbled by her experiences and is grateful to have been chosen.
