The world of HIPHOP have seen DJ's come and DJ's go. Some have stood the test of time and have persevered the many changes in music entertainment. Some are doing radio, some are very talented producers, and one has been inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. The mixtape game has become large in itself, and thanks to the late Justo Faison, a Dj himself, Dj's now have their awards of recognition. With a plethora of talented turntablists in the game , is there room for yet another talented musical genious? Is the room for another Grandmaster Flash, Kid Capri, DJ Whoo Kid, Qbert? Well, there is a logical answer to that question.
Welcome to the world of Dj Wizz the WaxxKutta!!! Dj Wizz was born in TRENTON ,NEW Jersey ans soon moved to Rochester, New York with his family. He'd already began scratchin' records while in New Jersey but his interest grew once he moved to upstate New York. While attending high school, Wizz started hanging with other local Dj's, like Kid Flash and T-Skii, who were making a little noise doing house parties and holding down spots on the local college radio stations spinning Hip Hop. He also became the Dj for several local rap groups that were performing throughout the city and upstate New York. This brought his name and djing style to many people who respect his skill. Dj Wizz was known for cuttin' and scratchin' different breakbeats, sometimes very quick, so much different to what people heard from other Dj's. He was creating a style of his own that no one else could duplicate. DJ WIZZ soon started spinning at parties and entering Dj contests,which he began winning time and time again. Wizz entered several Gemini Numark and DMC Dj battle competitions and won them all. Legend is some Dj's that entered the compititions dropped out when they learned they were competing against Wizz. He was the ONLY undefeated Dj ever for both competitions and was soon banned from competing. But there was one Dj that changed Wizz's life entirely, in terms of style. Philadelphia's DJ Jazzy Jeff changed Wizz's life and the entire game of spinning and Hip Hop itself. Jazzy created the scratching style, the "transformer", and transcended djing to the next level of skill. Wizz got his hands on one of Jazzy Jeff's mixtapes and at that point, nothing else musically mattered. The transformer style was integrated into his current style and form of djing and Wizz perfected it to a tee. No one was djing the way Wizz was and he soon had the local djing game on lock. Soon, he was the most sought after Dj in Rochester and abroad for parties and clubs. Dj Wizz created his Hands So Fast Productions company and started producing mixtapes, which became hot comodities on the streets. DJ Wizz soon began djing shows for and with Marley Marl ,Big Daddy Kane,Heavy D, DJ Kool, Finesse & Synquis, MC Shan, KRS - One, Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince, Mr . Cheeks, and Whodini, He also bcame a member of the Zulu Nation and has worked with DJ Jazzy Jay and the Rock Steady Crew's Krazy Legs, Frosty FrEEZE and NEW York City Breakers ' , Action. DJ WIZZ is currently an on-air personality for 103.9 FM WDKX. He hosts his own show , The Sunday Mixdown, from 2pm to 5pm.
