Born and raised in Chicago by Polish-American parents (I'm 100% Polish!) and am 57 years old....
School was VERY hard for me except for Science and reading.
Both my son and father were held back a year, and yet, I was allowed to continue down a terrible path of failures.
It turns out that I had bipolar which cause many problems for me. I wish I had the medications for my bipolar that I have now.
I went to 3 different summer schools and barely graduated high school. Because of my emotional issues, I was given the boot by 2 catholic high schools. If you have problems, the catholic schools don't want to deal with it!Over the years, I have been able to do things some people only dream about:
-Flew in the cockpit of Dassault Falcon's, DC-10's and 727's--Piloted a Cessna single engine aircraft--Have driven 40' CTA (metro) buses, school buses, police cars, ambulances, taxi cabs, limos, GIANT snow plows, million dollar prototypes vehicles and trucks of all kinds--Drove a Corvette to 147 mph--Got to meet Carroll Shelby-as in the Shelby Mustang, Cobra et al-and drove with him around the Chrysler Proving Grounds in Chelsea, Michigan--Was able to meet and ride with Bob Boundurant, a famous race car driver---Won a first place award in a race set up by Chrysler Corp over Journalists from around the world--Met Lee Iacocca, then Chairman of Chrysler Corp--Interviewed Richard Petty of NASCAR fame-Wrote for the National Lampoon, Chicago Tribune, Consumer Digest, Chicago Dispatcher and had a syndicated column--Won awards for Driver Safety from the National Safety council--Was a Illinois Certified Driver Instructor for the State of Illinois--Am trained in the use of the Smith System, a defensive driving program--Was the ONLY journalist allowed at the "Michigan State Police Car Evaluations in Lansing, Michagan--Have been studying driver safety and vehicle dynamics since I was 9 years old-TO BE CONTINUED..............................
