About Me

I was born on 21 October 1940 at Fitzwilliam in Yorkshire, England. Well known for my technically correct, doughty style of opening batsmanship, I will also be remembered for his cap-on medium pace style of bowling, especially in one-day cricket. During my career I represented Yorkshire in the County Championships and has also played for Transvaal in South Africa.
Since I finished with playing I went into the hot house of Cricket media. I have one the most known voices in the U.K and am seen as one of the wisest analyst of modern day Cricket.
In 1996, I was accused by Margaret Moore, a former lover, of assault. I denied the charges, by claiming she had fallen over and hit herself. I pointed to the fact that Moore was in financial difficulties and said that I would never hit a woman. However, in January 1998, I was convicted before a French Magistrates court. According to myself, Moore had grown angry when I refused to marry her, stating that 'he (me) was not the marrying kind'.
Despite this I still get work on TV and I'm bloody good at it!..
