My Interests

I'd like to meet:

SUGARPLUM FAIRY
since 1998

The five guys : Kristian Gidlund, Jonas Karlsson, David Hebert, Carl Norén and Viktor Norén decided, back in 1998, to give birth to a new fabulous band.
Since they grew up with the music of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones their music is also influenced by them, as well as by new britrock bands like Oasis.
Being huge Beatles fans they decided to give their band the name "Sugarplum Fairy". It's a quotation by John Lennon who counts "One, Two, Sugarplum Fairy..." in the song "A Day in the Life"!
After several gigs in their hometown Borlänge they finally got a contract with Universal and in 2004 their debut LP "Young and Armed" was released.
It became a huge success in Sweden, Germany and Japan. Songs like "Sweet Jackie", "Stay Young" and "Godfever" will always be classics and never forgotten.
First they did some tours in Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Japan before the guys set off into the studio for their second album "First Round First Minute". And again they created a great album, which is named after a sentence of Mohammed Ali. The singles "She" and "Last chance" are full of young spirit and self-confidence and make you move every single part of the body.
After a long tour and some time off for themselves, they went back to the studio for their third and upcoming album "The Wild One". This time a movie by Marlon Brando was considered to be the source of inspiration. The guys set off to Malaga (Spain) and Hamburg (Germany) to get the album together.
They say it will be definitely their best one! The first singles "The Escapologist" and "Never thought I'd say that it's alright" are already great catchy songs.

One can notice and above all you can hear that the band grew up during the years. Just listen to the albums: First they were young & armed...then they were ready for the first round which gets you during the first minute and now the wild ones are back to get you all shake your asses :)
