Detroit debuts this season with 2 new players in our lineup. Ty Conklin and Marian Hossa two former Pittsburgh Penguins signed as free agents during the post 2007-2008 Stanley Cup Championship season. The Wings will expect good things from these 2 additions to the team...
In light of Dominik Hassek's retirement, after last season, Ty Conklin will provide relief for Chris Osgood who will premier as our star goalie this 2008-09 season. Conklin is a prospect goalie who played backup to Pittsburgh's Marc Fleurry and earned a sceptical "who knew" commentary from avid hockey watchers in Pittsburgh...
Mariam Hossa, what can I say FANTASTIC hockey player who showed up more than once for the Penguins during the Stanley Cup playoffs in 2008. He is a right winger from Alaska, This U.S. Native puts points on the board and lead the team overall point-wise in the early season. Marian brings a balanced wealth of passing, and goal scoring ability to an already mighty Detroit offense.
