The finished product would most likely resemble Desiree. This 18-year-old beauty from Brooklyn, New York has her mind set on making it to center stage. Not only will she give it her all to reach success, but she is ready to sacrifice in order to make it to the top. Her mother, who is Desiree's driving force, supports her 100% and is right by her side, guiding her through the journey.
Her name broken down is Desire w/ an extra E, explaining she has the aspirations of becoming an influential singer and more to the Industry. Singing is not considered her hobby but her passion which she takes seriously. You can ask anyone in her school whats the first thing they think of when they hear the name Desiree? They will automatically say singing. All she wanted to do since 5 was sing. Being young you have to be really dedicated to doing it for yourself," says Desiree. Desiree cites artists like Mary J. Blige, Patti LaBelle, Anita Baker, Brandy, Beyonce and Aaliyah as inspirations. "There are a lot of trials and tribulations you have to go through to get what you want, especially if you feel like it belongs to you.The young and soulful R&B singer Desiree has taken part in numerous events. She showcased her talent at the International Music & Film Festival held at Madison Square Garden in August 2002. She was the first round winner of Apollos High School Amateur Night competition held in July 2003. Desiree received a standing ovation during the UNICEF Holiday show where she performed at the United Nations singing the Broadway tune from Dream Girls - Jennifer Holidays And Im Telling You in December 2003. In February 2004, she won the Brooklyn Blizzards Youth Organization Talent show. In 2004, shortly following her win, Desiree was asked to sing the National Anthem at the annual basketball and football tournament for the Police Athletic League (PAL). She was asked to make a radio and television appearance in Mount Vernon, New York for Mount Vernons Radio Station WVOX. Desiree was greeted and interviewed by Chris Web and WLIB 93.5 FMs Bob Frederick Spice Man who hosted the appearances. Desirees dedication to her talent is earning her raving reviews. Within her busy schedule she finds time to dedicate 15 hours a month to community service for Power 105.1, where she is a part of the Flava Unit, organized by DJ Deja Vu. The Flava Unit does positive and charitable work for the communities. Desiree's community and countless other communities support her hard work and dedication. Desiree is recording and doing extensive writing for herself and others in the Industry. She is currently taking vocal and piano lessons to enhance her craft and to perfect her performance.
Desiree has recorded at Star Dome Entertainment in East Orange, New Jersey, Soundblend Productions in Brooklyn, NY, and 803 Productions in Columbia, South Carolina. Wyclef Jean, Producer Jerry Wonder, Producer TweetSouth, Producer J-Slyde, and Producer 88 Keyz are just a few of the people that have their hands in the growth of Desiree.
In the next five years, there are many options Desiree would like to pursue besides becoming a singer and a platinum artist; she would like to take part in learning and allowing her talent to excel in different directions in the music Industry.
