About Me

BIOGRAPHY

This band has a wonderful but tough journey. They have crawled mountains as high as Everest and yet, this is just the beginning of a beautiful journey. The band started at the end of 2004, where Zam (guitars) and Is (guitars) met each other at Kolej Perindu 3, UiTM Shah Alam. Both of them do have the same interests which is music and guitars. They had the initiative to start a band and found Mag (drums) and Zack (bass) to participate in Kolej Perindu’s Battle of the Band. They played “Scream From Inside” which is their debut song and named themselves as Fiscal Policy.

After a few months, Zam and Is had the hunger to write and perform more of their own songs on stage with their own style of music. Unfortunately, Mag’s main objective in playing music was not congruence with Fiscal Policy’s and Zack only wanted to jam his all time favorite band’s songs. Due to the situation, the band lost the drummer and the bassist of Fiscal Policy.

In the middle of 2005, the dual found a friend who has a lot of interest in music including playing the bass guitar. So, they persuaded Afiq (bass) to join forces with them to restart the band. With 3 band members and Is played in drums position, they have been jamming together at jamming studios around Shah Alam with their own songs. They named themselves as Silentune.

At the end of 2005, Afiq found a drummer thru jamtank.com named Feroze (drums). With a new drummer, Zam, Is and Afiq had to travel to and fro Kuala Lumpur to have a jamming session every week. During this period, the name Silentune was already taken by a local hip-hop/rap band according to their friends. Once again, they have changed their name to a permanent one, Silentroop.

Looking for a vocalist to complete the line-up is very tough since the requirement to be a vocalist for Silentroop is very typical. This did not stop them from writing and performing their own songs around Kuala Lumpur and Shah Alam. In the middle of 2007, Feroze had to leave the band due to his commitments as a gig organizer and also as a drummer for a top mainstream band in Malaysia.

This turnaround has forced the remaining members of Silentroop to stick together and have the mentality to not give up easily for the sake of music. This is where the band’s major reconstruction starts for a new bud to blossom again. The journey continues.
